I was born in England's West Country and spent my first years amongst strawberry fields, caves and orchards. Leaving home at eighteen I headed for London and embarked on a career in the Civil Service - gaining a Science degree along the way. So what am I doing writing historical romance? I think it is probably something to do with the ports and cities of the South where I have lived and where you can still feel the echo of the Georgian period.
A short story published in a national magazine was my first success which spurred me on to finish and seek a publisher for my novel.
I love spell checks, piano, swing dance and musical theater. My ambition has always been to travel into space, but as the years roll by it looks less likely, unless I write a best seller and can book a place on Richard Branson's first flights.
