I didn't know what to expect when I bought this book - I just thought the title was intriguing. But once I started, I couldn't put it down. It's a real page-turner, and such an imaginative story line - part science-fiction, part philosopy, and part pure comedy. I laughed lots, but at times, I had a lump in my throat too.... If you like Douglas Adams Hitchhiker's Guide, Kafka's Metamorphosis or John Wyndham's Day of the Triffids, you'll love this.

Loved this book so much, t's quirky, comic and highly emotive in equal measures. It is surreal and futurist in it's visual landscape with engaging narrative - a roller coaster journey that delights and entertains. I don't want to give any plot spoilers but feel compelled to say that I was given A Survivor's Guide to Eternity as a present from a friend who happened to discover it in a North London bookshop whilst I was not familiar with it's author, I'd highly recommend that if you enjoy discovering new voices, don't let Pete Lockett pass you by.

What a really great read, not usually my kind of book , but was recommended to me by a friend, and I was totally gripped from beginning to end.
The ups & downs of Eds life kept me totally entertained, always wondering what was coming next.
That this is a first novel is absolutely amazing, hope more are to follow!
Read it, you will not be dissapointed!

An enthralling book from a new writer. I don't normally go for writers I don't know but a friend pointed me towards this book and I'm glad he did. Quirky and philosophical but with a great story line which surprises all the way. Read it over one weekend and couldn't put it down! definitely worth a read!
