Serious protection (that still knows how to play)
So you like to play games on your iPad mini. That doesn't mean you don't need serious protection. And that's why we made Survivor Play.
It's made of tough siliconeshaped to fit a two-handed gaming gripwhile providing extra padding where your iPad needs it most: at the corners. Underneath the siliconethere's a skeleton of stiff polycarbonate plastic that gives it shape and acts like a bulletproof vest for your iPad. Cutouts and raised button covers give you access to the portscameras and controls of your iPad. An adjustable shoulder strap clips directly into the polycarbonate skeleton at any of four connection pointsto give you lots of handsfree carrying options.
Though it may be all about gamingSurvivor Play doesn't play around when it comes to protection. Survivor Play is just as tough against impact and vibration as our more (ahem) serious Survivor cases. We researched standards set by the U.S. Department of Defense (in MIL-STD-810G) and used them as guidelines in designing protection against ShockDropand Vibration. Your iPad will probably never have to endure the conditions outlined by these military standards. But imagine how well Survivor Play will protect your iPad mini in everyday life.Griffin

In the warehouse, the shoulder strap makes these comfortable to carry around all day. The iPad Mini can easily be slid around to the side or back if the strap is worn slung over one shoulder and diagonally across the chest. We've had a couple of drops when users weren't wearing the strap. The case did it's job: a drop onto concrete floor from 3-4 feet did not damage the iPads.
Other reviewers have noted that there is no built-in screen protector. That is a plus for our uses. We don't want or need screen protectors. They get in the way, reduce visibility and touch response. The iPad Mini screen has proven tough enough without extra layers of protection.
Another reviewer complained it doesn't fit the iPad Mini properly. We're using iPad Mini first-gen. Fit is perfect.
If you need a bullet-proof (or waterproof) case, this ain't it. If you want something with good protection, all-day comfort, and durability, at a great price (around twenty bucks), you won't find anything better.
