One of a series, unlikely you'll care if you have no connection with the particular area.
Every aspect of the development of the area is contained in these two weighty tomes. It's unlikely you'll ever read every word but anything you need to know will be there.
Very well produced, with lots of photographs and other illustrations. You get a lot for your money but it's a lot of money for a book. (two). Value will be directly related to how much you want to know about your area

Got this as a Christmas present from my son. It's absolutely splendid - beautifully produced, clear writing and liberally illustrated with maps and photographs. It's two massive volumes (they weight a ton!!)
It will be of huge interest to anyone who loves reading about and studying the historical and geographical development of an urban area. It is really detailed and leaves nothing unexplained.
As relative newcomers to Battersea my wife and I are finding it a real treasure trove of fascinating information that has already (only three days after receiving it) given us a real insight to the area, and enthused us to go and visit all the area it describes in due course.
I know it's expensive, but it's absolutely brilliant. It won't be on the coffee table as just anohter 'nice' book - this one is for dipping into regularly and reading and re-reading. Yes, it's that good!
