About the Author

Most authors will tell you that writing is all they’ve ever wanted to do. I guess I’m one of the few that don’t fit in that bucket. Writing a book was never on my bucket list until three years ago. On my list was: Climb the Corporate ladder. Check. Go to Europe. Check. Complete a half marathon. Check. Eat chocolate daily. Double check. Isn’t this on everyone’s bucket list? Catch up on two seasons of Games of Thrones in one day. Painful, but check. And finally, devouring romance books at an alarming pace like the unashamed book addict I am…Over a thousand checks! Living in Nebraska with my soul-mate hubby, I pen my magic world at night, while paying the bills with an actual paying job in the corporate world during the day. Writing is just an all-consuming passion for now, but boy, if I could dream... My other loves include my simply amazing, incredible and talented children and newly acquired son-in-law (wink), a steamy novel, great friends and family, and a warm ocean breeze gliding over my sun drenched skin with a cocktail in hand.

Ah a vampire romance, OK so I wasn't sold but I have to be honest I liked it. Lots of characters to be introduced to but the main two Kate and dev are meant to be soul mates.
She's been dreaming of a gorgeous man and also a dark world of vampires and violence. She dreams of Sarah and decides to go to the police.
There she meets dev and her life as she knows it is over.
She is swept into the darkness but will she survive.

Good romp with great characters and dialogue, no surprises but an enjoyable escape.

Its no black swan affair (amazing book by this author) but still a good read.

I read this book the other day and really enjoyed K.L. Kreig characthers and world building, and the story kept me hooked too. If you love your vamps sexy come meet Dev!

Dev is a Regent, basically his in charge of a region, in this vampire world vamps are born and cant be created by a bite, they can eat normal food too along with human blood, they also want to be loved even if they dont admit to it!

Kate is plagued by bad dreams and soon she realises there about missing people, what can she do, people will think she's mad.... when she speaks to a detective shes shocked when he beleives her and doesnt lock her up, he calls in some specialist 'detectives', enter Dev.

There's a strong current running between them from the moment they meet, I thought Kate was great trying to keep her distance but when your fated its not worth the fight! All they do is cause pain to themselves by abstaining and made me despereate for them to get it on!

A love story needs a bad guy, we get to meet Xavier and his horrible, disgisting, yes a truely bad guy, he no redeeming qualities other than being the bad guy.

The story was told well and lots goes on, its a learning curve for Dev and Kate but they develop deep feelings for each other, and they cant get enough of each other.

There is also fab selection of other characthers, they're a real mixture and I look forward to reading more of them in future books.

A Recommended read to Vampire PNR lovers.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters and story arc.
Can't wait for future books which I hope will continue to fill out the characters, I particularly look forward to Giselle's story.
I did think that there were some time gaps but this didn't really detract from the overall story.
Will be recommending to friends

Having just read and loved 'Black Swan Affair' I went looking for other books by this author and couldn't believe my luck when I found she'd written a vampire series.
Now maybe after 'Swan' my expectations were too high but this wasn't quite the book I expected, all the ingredients were there but somehow, for me anyway it just didn't really work.
I'm not sure what else to say I didn't really like or relate to any of the characters especially Kate I found her shallow and annoying and the fact that young girls are being held and tortured yet sex or a shower is more important to her and him as well for that matter.

"Now, I know you must be tired, love, but we need an emergency meeting with the other Lords. Right now. We need to act quickly on your new information.”
Kate looked down at the sports bra and tight running shorts that she was still wearing from yesterday.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to change and shower quickly. I’ll be ready in less than ten minutes.” ......
"Oh, I don’t mind at all, love. But I’ll be joining you. And we may be a tad longer than ten minutes.”

This isn't the only example of this and it annoyed me that there was no sense of urgency.
They both had stupid moments I think he actually had more than she did.

Surrendering is the first book in the ‘Regent Vampire Lords’ series and the type of book that I love – paranormal romance.
We meet Kate Martin, a sassy lady who in the beginning has been betrayed in the worst way and see that she is now the type of woman who has put relationships to one side to better herself. She is a psychology lecturer with dreams of taking her qualifications all of the way. What we quickly find out is that she has strange dreams, dreams of girls being held captive and tortured but also of one mysterious man who makes her desire him like no one else.
When she realises that the girls in her dreams are going missing, she feels it’s her duty to tell the police what she knows. Thinking they will assume she is crazy, you can imagine her surprise when not only is she believed but an investigation specialist is brought in to interview her further…… and he just so happens to be her dream man.
Kate is about to have her world turned upside down by Devon Fallinsworth, Regent Vampire Lord of the Midwest. He is centuries old, all alpha and he enjoys all aspects of life including women, sex & blood. In the vampire world he is a leader and used to commanding any situation and the people in it. When girls start to go missing in his area, he suspects his arch enemy is back and up to his old tricks and hopefully this time, they will catch him and end him. When they get a lead from a detective on the case he is ready to begin the hunt but what he isn’t ready for is finding Kate Martin, the woman made just for him, his Moira, his soul mate and after centuries – his chance at love & family.
Now because of Kate’s history, she’s really cautious about this man but Dev goes all alpha on her, demanding she have protection etc. and when it becomes obvious that she is in danger…..
