The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder only opens for a registered pet’s veterinary implanted microchip or RFID collar tag to prevent pets stealing each others’ food. One collar tag is supplied with the product. This feeder is ideal for multi-pet households to prevent greedy pets becoming overweight and to ensure prescription or life-stage food is consumed by the right pet. The lid of the feeder closes onto a sealed bowl, which keeps food fresher. One single grey bowl, one split grey bowl and one grey mat is included - additional bowls and mats in grey, green, pink and blue can be purchased separately. Stainless steel bowls are also available. The training mode closes the lid in stages to help timid pets get used to the movement. The product includes a three-year warranty.

I have 1 obese cat (Maya) on a strict prescription diet and one slim cat (Minx) on regular food and it's been soooo tough trying to monitor the food intake of Maya and the vet suggested SureFeed along with a new diet, I went online to buy 2 and almost chocked at the price but as I had no other option left I brought them and now, having seen the results I would pay anything for this product, it's priceless in my eyes.
Maya is shy and scared, Minx is fiery and aggressive and programming them both was a walk in the park...so easy I thought I was doing it wrong!!
I didn't use the training mode although having read the instructions it was crazy simple to initiate and use but I just wanted to go straight in for the kill and see how my girls reacted to the new machines.
Initially they avoided them for a day or so but the more hungry they got the more inquisitive they became of their feeding areas and gradually just stared using the machines and now it's like second nature to them.
It's been about 4 weeks now and I can already see a change in Maya and she is not constantly begging for food 24hours a day now, her stomach must be shrinking!!
Honestly, this is probably saving my little Maya's life as she was close to a dangerous weight.
Don't be put off by the price, esp if buying more than 1....please please know it's worth every penny, it's priceless.
We have two permanently-resident Maine Coon cats and one who visits regularly, all of whom are on different cat foods for medical reasons.
We have had endless problems with cats eating other cats dinners and then getting ill, now that is over.
Getting the feeder to recognise the cat was an absolute doddle, I had expected to have to input the microchip number but you just press a button, put a cat treat in the bowl and let the correct cat eat the treat - job done! We went through the full training mode as both cats were initially a little wary of the noise and within 5 days all was working as expected. I have bought an extra bowl for each feeder just so that there is always a clean bowl ready, we feed a mix of wet and dry food. The lid keeps flies out and the aroma in, which is a big positive. They look a bit space-age, but in a good way, and I have had no issues in keeping them clean - just a wipe over with kitchen roll is working so far.
I did have to contact the manufacturer almost immediately as one cat had worked out how to foil the system by going round the back - they sent out clear hoods for each feeder free of charge which just clip on and stop all that nonsense. Very quick response, seemed like nice people.
I would suggest you make the most of Black Friday - these are a ridiculous amount of money for what is essentially a cat bowl, but compared to what we would be spending otherwise on vets bills for sickly cats they are worth every single penny!
Add a SureFeed pet feeder, batteries (we used rechargable AAs in C cell adaptors), food (we used wet food to train the cat, then reverted to dry) and set the food tray cover to "open", introduce the thin cat gently to the tray and the SureFeed will learn the cat's chip code.
We had a few occasions when thin cat was reluctant or nervous when using it, but bribes of wet food and/or being manually "introduced" to the feeder resulted in thin cat getting used to the device within three days.
Two months later we have two cats at their healthy weights.
The manual said don't use rechargable batteries though we have had no problems, similarly it said don't dishwash the bowls and again we have had no problems at 50 degree C.
I have 2 cats, one is a stray who came to us, only problem was he was eating our cat's food as well as his own, so I needed this feeder ASAP.
Initially my puss didn't like the feeder one bit, mostly due to the noise of lid opening & closing & I was getting a bit worried in case she never used it... I'd read the reviews & knew I'd have to persevere & sure enough after one week she started to use it and the lid movement isn't a problem at all now. I can't recommend this enough as it keeps her dry food fresher for longer, not to mention the disgruntled ginger Tom can no longer steal the food!!! This feeder is a fabulous invention & i would def be lost without it, just don't give up if your cat is nervous, it will eventually come round & I should have mentioned the training program is a must, for as long as it takes, as I said my cat was using it in normal mode within a week & she is quite nervous of strange noises... Order now it's worth every penny!!!
