Product Description

Fibafirst Rabbit is a complete feed for adult rabbits. Using only the very finest ingredients, Fibafirst is a high fibre diet that satisfies the natural nutritional and physiological needs of your rabbits. It is vital that rabbits are able to forage and chew to satisfy their natural feeding behaviour. With longer fibre particles and a larger portion size, Fibafirst extends your rabbits’ feeding time, promoting dental and digestive health, as well as enhancing emotional enrichment. With its unique appearance and texture it looks, feels and smells natural to your pets and caters for their innate feeding behaviour, as it’s much closer to the diet of an animal in the wild. Fibafirst Monoforage has been formulated by Supreme Petfoods to provide very much higher levels of fibre – up to 30% – that are much closer to the natural grass-based diet of a wild rabbit.

Ingredients

Timothy hay, alfalfa stalks, wheat meal, soybean meal, ground peas, locust bean meal, alfalfa protein extract, flaked oats, linseed, soya oil, Vitamin A 15000 IU, vitamin D3 1500 IU, vitamin E 60mg.

My rabbits were munching these straight away. I've been through a range of different nuggets for one of my rabbits that has a sensitive tum. Hoping these help him. They certainly enjoy them.

Update: After a couple of days my rabbits seem bored with these. I give them a few with their usual nuggets and they very rarely finish them.

Given to a very enthusiastic about food but overweight rabbit, she eats them now instead of Science Selective pellets and has lost most of her extra weight and her droppings are lovely and golden. The other bunny, who is much more fussy, refuses to eat these pellets. So basically, these are brilliant if you can get your bunny to eat them, but some bunnies refuse to it them point blank.

My rabbits don't dive for these like they do for new hay or a treat, but they disappear throughout the day. My fussy one took a few months before I saw her tucking into these, so even the fussiest of rabbits will probably come round eventually.

Fibre is the most essential thing for rabbits and these contains 30g which is high and close to what they would get from natural grass.

1 week in to the Supreme Fibafirst pet food and my rabbits are loving it. The food seems to be very good quality and highly beneficial. It keeps them interested and because it's a lot harder than other pellet type food and it smells fantastic even as a human. I've noticed a marked improvement of there droppings which now have a great colour and form. Coming from burgess this is a lovely surprise. I really can't praise it enough for rabbit owners this brand will be the only one we'll use from now on, and I'll maybe change up when they hit different ages.

Update after 8 months (stars changed from 3 to 5):

At first my bunnies adored this treat, they could not get enough of it, but the novelty wore off and they stopped eating the sticks after a month. However, the nutritional content of the fibafirst sticks is excellent, very high in fibre which is beneficial if you have bunnies that have previously had gut stasis problems. They also help with keeping teeth nice and trim.

So after giving them a break I persevered and it paid off. My bunnies now have a few sticks plus a few science selective nuggets morning and night, and they always eat them. This has enabled me to reduce the quantity of their nuggets and I'm sure will help maintain a healthy weight, in conjunction with lots and lots of hay. As a bonus the 2kg box really does last well! Make sure you keep a peg on the top of the bag as I the bag tag is easily lost and it is important to keep the fibasticks fresh.

I would recommend to others, but you may need to persevere. Rabbits, like children will go for 'new' or less healthy options, so make sure to only offer them a range of healthy foods!

I have bought a smaller sized pack from a local pet store which had a different consistency, were smoother and greener in colour, which my rabbits loved. Made sense to save money by buying a larger size. This pack had a rougher, sharper stick which was a brown colour and one of my rabbits refused it. Wish I hadn't bought such a big pack!

It's not my rabbit's favourite favourite, but she often refuses to eat hay and she'll readily eat this. During the winter, when there's no grass left for her in the garden, this is part of her staple diet.

We run a rabbit rescue and this one is clearly not anyone's favourite. Expect sniff, lick and walk away. But it is excellent for greedy rabbits who are prone to gulping down their food and rapid weight gain. You can safely leave a dish of this out, all day long and, eventually, they will start eating it, it will go down, and they will even like it. I know that ours will never be mad about it like they are about nuggets but when yours are as greedy as some of ours and if your heart stops in fear of them choking on their nuggets each time they pounce on them like crazy, try this food. Give them a little bit of nuggets, scattered all over rather than in a dish, and then put this food in a dish. You will see, they will eat first out of desperation and then start liking it.
