‘Superwoman’, Rebecca Ferguson’s third solo album, sees the gifted artist explode into uncharted territory, finally moving into a motion filled fifth gear, and showcasing exactly what she is capable of bringing to her many upcoming planned tour dates. The album kicks off with two finely tuned productions in the shape of ‘Bones’ & ‘Mistress’ which will no doubt, strike home with fans of her more open voice and with those who have either had the pleasure of seeing Rebecca Ferguson perform live, or with anyone who is planning on seeing her perform in the foreseeable future. This of course could have easily been featured on a ‘live recording’ release, so the album quickly transforms into an easier listening pace, with a solid collection of more down tempo studio productions including ‘Superwoman’ & ‘Stars’, and then rising again towards the end of the album.
The album itself, from a production viewpoint, is unquestionably flawless - primarily aimed at those who just like to enjoy good music – and will fit perfectly against a broad spectrum of listening devices without any issues whatsoever. When examined in a more concise manner, Rebecca Ferguson’s delicate ear has this time been allowed more space and freedom to shine through, bringing an elementary sense of cohesion to her powerful voice. Some characteristics remain untested, but when pushed to her limits, Rebecca Ferguson’s ability to deliver out a forceful punch of Funk, Jazz and Soulful suppressions, is handled with both internal poise and elegant simplicity.

This lady can do nothing wrong. Love her voice, love her music. Thrilled. Look forward to a long car journey just so that I can listen to it uninterrupted. Nothing on the CD that I skip, which is unusual with a CD. Rebecca at her best. She is just getting better and better. I have all four of her CDs and she is fabulous. If you love that jazzy, soulful sound, this fits the bill.

Rebecca is a goddess , and this album is brilliant . Many congratulations to her (and also to Troy Miller , what a fantastic job they have done) I hope this does really well, she deserves the recognition . Please buy this folks . If you like soulful sincerity , then this is for you. Songs Hold Me and I'll Meet You There are sheer masterpieces - even the most hardened critics will agree. I started to listen to this album early Friday morning , and it's been in my head ever since, what bliss , an antidote to the current dreadful state of the world . I've said this before , but Rebecca is unique with the most unusually beautiful voice , and such a range! And she manages to make the pain she sings about pleasurable as there is nothing quite like a good therapeutic sob to one of her really emotional songs , Hold Me - my instant favourite being the prime example., plus I'll Meet You There which is beautifully heartbreaking . But it must be said that she also has fun , Don't Want You Back is in the style of Backtrack , uplifting and a proper pop song , and why the hell not as even great singers like her need some light relief. Furthermore, she definitely has an inner rock star as the stompingly spectacular Without a Woman shows . Another gem of a song to really turn up the volume on and sing along with, in the privacy of your own home , to blot out that bad old world out there. Rebecca has helped my family through some tough times, I can tell you! To pigeon hole Rebecca's talent , and to say that she represents (or should stick to) totally this or that genre is wrong as she really can sing anything and is brimming with ideas. Well done again Rebecca and all the very best of luck with this album.

I got this album a couple of days before her concert in Gateshead, which was an incredible live experience. I have waited a couple of years to go see her (sold out the first time, then she postponed the concert scheduled for January in order to complete this album). Rebecca just keeps getting better and better, in terms of both performance value and quality of output. To answer a previous reviewer's question, I don't think she gets the recognition she deserves because she's quite shy and not a big egotist, therefore doesn't self-promote as much as some. I also don't think the singles released from her various albums have been the best choices. So when I got to the concert I was worried about the possible turnout, but no alarm necessary. The place was full and everyone seemed to love both her and the music. I certainly did. Buy this album - and all the rest. She's magnificent.
