Supernatural Strategies for Making a Rock 'n' Roll Group is an amusing, smart, perceptive, tongue in cheek deconstruction on how to make a rock n roll group. Despite its niche objective, "Supernatural Strategies for Making a Rock 'n' Roll Group" is actually nothing less than a complete deconstruction of modern manners and the absurdity of life on planet Earth in the 21st century.

Ian F. Svenonius applies his considerable learning in a perceptive and original way, whilst cautioning the would-be rock 'n' roller to do pretty much anything but pursue a career in music.

I loved this book. It provides razor-sharp social satire, astute cultural criticism, political commentary, and much more.

At around the halfway point I ordered Ian F. Svenonius's other two books: The Psychic Soviet and Other Works and Censorship Now!!. I cannot wait to read them both.

If you love music, especially Rock & Roll' and are in a band, have thought about being in a band, seen a band or heard a band anywhere, anytime, ever: you will enjoy this book.

It's hilariously funny and fiendishly clever: very sharp, indeed. A forensic anatomisation of what it takes to become 'A Band' and stay that way, or not, with much else eruditely woven in. All human nature is here as well as the proclivities of the music industry itself.

One of the best books I have read about bands and the music of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century. Excellent for fans and music professionals alike whether you are the first violin in the London Philharmonic, the deputy drummer in a gig-less aspiring pub-band, or a concertina player in a folk-combo ...

Highly enjoyable. Inform yourself!

Its basically divided in two parts. The first one being funny and delirious, tough sometimes a little off. The second part is even funnier, with strikes of pure genius and even helpful as a guide in that regard. I wouldn't dare to say Svenonius is a genius, but sure he's somebody whose vision and drive could and maybe should be an inspiration for many (more).
