This set has the last half of the episodes from Supernatural season 4, just as previous season UK releases were first marketed split into part 1 and part2 [there's 22 episodes in season 4]. Obviously this is an attempt to extract as much money as possible from those who missed the UK TV showing and are desperate to see how Dean and Sam are getting on. As this whole season is great, and the best yet, perhaps it's money well spent. Certainly though the episodes from Season 4 Part One were scorchers, although the body count seems to be piling up [yes, Supernatural deserves that 15 rating]. Be careful of which reviews you read though, as some contain a few somewhat massive 'spoilers'. Fortunately the last episode of 'Season 4 Part One's DVD set didn't have a particular cliffhanger other than the question of Lilith not unexpectedly remaining unresolved [and she's no Angel, although she is almost as annoying as one].

The previous part-1 DVD set has a "In the Beginning" series creator commentary, and the out-takes [cut scenes, although these often give away key elements of the plot - so watch them last]. Subtitles in this Season 4 Part 2 are English, English SDH [Deaf & Hard of hearing], 'other language' subtitles apparently might vary but ours had dutch subtitles only, and it's spoken English audio only. The extras in this part 2 set seem to be just the deleted scenes. The complete [PAL] fourth season set is now available, but also investigate the NTSC complete season 4 sets from Amazon international resellers that are reputed to contain a few more extras [e.g. the gag reels]. I suppose we can rejoice the series hasn't been cancelled like so many other excellent shows, although the next season Five is reputed to be the finale season [as planned from conception].

No, I don't mean the forth season of Supernatural, which I love, because its full of great episodes (and a lot of them are in this box), but I am very disappointed because the box comes without any specials except some deleted scenes.

The long awaited gag reel and commentaries are not to be found here. If you don't have the first part already, I'd go for the season box set. I just hope that the specials are not an exclusive part of the US release.

As per supernatural season 4 part 2 is just as good as the seasons leading up to it. Would definitely recommend for anyone who likes a bit of scare and a bit of a laugh. Plus the eye candy alone is worth a watch!

Thanks to a really strong main cast and some excellent writing and production, four seasons in and Supernatural is still going strong, with every episode worth watching and a seemingly never ending well of good ideas. Like all shows that get renewed enough times, the story arc in Season 4 has had by necessity to be larger and riskier than ever before, but thanks to some darker and emotional storylines, summoned forth by excellent - occasionally heartrending - performances by lead actors Jared Padalecki (Sam) and Jensen Ackles (Dean) it not only gets away with it, but carries it all off with some serious style.

The introduction of angels into the mix is realised far better than some other shows - here angels are quite menacing and self-righteous and their otherworldliness brings in an element of detachment from humanity that you hadn't seen in quite the same way from the demons on the show. Even so, what really sells the angel concept is not the writing or the effects: The casting of Misha Collins as Castiel was a stroke of genius - in more ways than one, for it has literally picked ratings up enough for the show to be renewed for a fifth season. I know that Supernatural has always been about the two lead characters, but it seems the Americans liked Castiel so much that the series - widely admitted following a season three ratings dip to have been due to end this season - has been renewed for a fifth season, bringing Misha in as the third lead actor. That doesn't mean we'll have Cas-specific episodes edging Sam and Dean out, we're assured, so here's looking forward to the final season! If it's as good as this one, it'll be a hell of a ride.

I completely agree with another reviewer form the UK here. I am gutted that the UK seems to have been not deemed worthy of the many extras that the USA have. I have all the SPN seasons on DVD and I am not saying that this season is anything but as excellent as the last 3, if a little not what got me interested way back in 2006. I think its a complete insult to the buying public that WB has thrown the UK the barest minimum with 'Extended/Deleted Scenes', and that they think that its acceptable. For someone who has gladly given over my hard earned cash for every season, I am disappointed that I don't seem to be important enough to have the same quantity as that of the USA. Sorry if I ranted, and that this seems to be a review of 'have not' rather than 'have', but the disapointment has overshadowed my excitement at having this season to add to my shelf with the last 3!
