It was an interesting read and as a Superman fan I am pleased to have read it and learned some new things about his origins. Sadly I found the poor grammar, layout and spelling mistakes a real let down.

Most Superman fans love all things super and will not be disappointed with this book. I only gave it 4 stars because I did not think it went quite far enough.

Not really in depth but pleasant enough to flick through. Far to my errors with spelling and grammar though, making it feel a bit amateurish.

HASH(0x99e50714) out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Money Or Time 8 Mar. 2013
By Amanda Straw - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I'm writing an MA thesis on Superman as a symbolic representation for the American immigrant narrative, so in the past 3 weeks I've read basically every reference book on Superman that's in the Kindle store (in addition to watching both the official DC documentary & the History Channel's "Unmasked" series) and this is by far the weakest of the lot. If you're any kind of comics aficionado, there's absolutely NOTHING new or interesting in this book, and several significant story arcs are either not mentioned by name (Geoff Johns' "Secret Origin," Waid & Ross's "Kingdom Come," Azzarello's "President Lex/Lex Luthor: Man of Steel/Luthor," Donner & Johns' "Last Son of Krypton," and Robinson/Gates' "Last Stand of New Krypton") or completely left out--the omissions of Straczynski's "Earth One" and Jeph Loeb's "Superman For All Seasons" are UNFORGIVABLE as far as I'm concerned. I'm pretty sure I could crap out a better-quality book than this by Monday if I were getting paid actual money to do so. The fact that I have to put so much MORE time and energy into researching and writing my thesis (for which I've paid about ten times as much as I expect this book will ever generate in profits) than was put into this execrable excuse for a reference text quite frankly makes me want to deliver a Thirties-style beatdown to everyone involved in producing this garbage.

While this book has all of the superman history we have grown to love, it has not much else to offer. Any avid superman fan would know most of this information already. An easy read to say the least

HASH(0x99728f54) out of 5 stars Not so bad... 18 Dec. 2012

Very few things in this title that would be foreign to a long time Superman fan. There were a forethought mostly continuity clarity. Many spelling and editing errors however that detract from its readability.

The misspellings, poor grammar, and lack of depth in this work are staggering. An absolute waste of time and money.

very informative. could have been more detailed though but never the less. it's a good book to read especially for those who would want to know more about my ultimate superhero.
