This review is for the Limited Edition 2 disc version of the film.

One disc is the theatrical edition; the other is an extended edition. The latter has an extra 15 minutes of footage, and it helps fill-out the movie (adding a little extra depth to the story-telling). I much prefer the extended cut of the film.

The box is nice, and it comes with a booklet - providing information on the making of the film, as well as a little artwork for fans.

While I'd ordinarily recommend buying this limited edition, it's up for sale at between £50 and £100 ... which is WAY too expensive. If you can find this edition for £20, then get it. Otherwise stick with the standard DVD.

I'm pretty sure they'll release the film on Blu-ray - and when they do, the extended cut might be included. Let's hope so.

I am a great lover of all comic films, this is a real
favourite of mine, but the Reigon 1 DVD has much more
to offer, the extended version has an extra 15 mins.
So if you like nostalga you will love this.

Huge fan of the Superman and loved Supergirl growing up as a kid as well. This is a brilliant spin off to Superman and it is full of magic and wonder of its Super cousin . Helen Slater plays Supergirl spot on and the film doesn't deserve the negative reviews. Doesn't try and be anything it is not the film and it is basic but fun warm and very enjoyable . A must for any Superman fan.

This movie was never going to win any awards, despite the talents of Peter O'Toole and Faye Dunaway. Helen Slater's portrayal of Linda Lee/Kara/Supergirl fits well with the feel of the rest of the movie. I do think this movie is sometimes unfairly slated. Sure, it's got more cheese than a 3-cheese pizza, but it's still entertaining enough.

Brought for my dad, we watched it years ago and he loved it. was really happy with the price I paid, brings back memories. Helen Slater is Supergirl. The same concept as Superman who has gone away on a trip somewhere and she ends up having to do a superman and save everyone from a nasty vilian.Easy to watch not much think in involved

Underrated film, highly enjoyable from start to finish. Helen Slater had a lot to live up to and doesn't disappoint in a movie with impressive special effects for the time and an interesting story that although absurd doesn't lose pace or focus.

Highly recommended for people who appreciate old school comic book adaptions.

I remember watching this years ago and so me & my friends had a night in where we re-watched all these old films. Whilst it isn't the greatest film ever made, it still had that nostalgic feel that brought back a lot of fun memories. I doubt we'd watch it again but it was great to be reminded of the film!
