Going by previous reviews and being familiar with the toy range I just checked it out before watching with my daughter and have to say a little caution may be recommended as this isn't quite as Under-7's friendly as has been suggested.
The animation style in places is very quick cut with fast, jumpy edits, which I'm not keen on. It hurts my eyes watching and gives a kind of manic feeling to the whole cartoon. Similarly some of the dialogue is very fast paced (especially in early episodes) and could be kind of hard to follow in places.
Whilst the violence is cartoony and no-one dies or gets injured, and is probably akin to anything in Tom and Jerry etc, (ie Hulk picking someone up and smashing their head into the ground over and over again) there is quite a lot of it and the aggression is added to as most of the "Heroes" seem to snarl and look mean most of the time, even pushing or hitting each other and calling each other names. Theres lots of "stupid" and "Hate" and so on. I mean if you have tried to keep that kind of language away from your children until now you might not find this acceptable, and lots of shouting too which gets a bit headache inducing (or I'm just getting old!).
The humour is mainly toilet based, farts and bogeys abound! I don't have a problem with that when it is well done and funny. Plenty of comedy in this, which is why it is probably seen as aimed at younger kids. The Super heroes kind of parody themselves which makes for some funny lines.Read more ›
