Review

I'm in AWE of Jane Green. A truly gripping read (Marian Keyes, on Summer Secrets)

Warm, witty, sharp and insightful. Jane Green writes with such honesty and zing (Sophie Kinsella, on Summer Secrets)

Summer Secrets is the perfect summer read . . . you'll be hooked (Kristin Hannah)

I'm a huge fan of Green's emotionally intelligent books, and here she focuses her gaze on a far-from-brilliant mother, narcissistic Hollywood actress Ronni Sunshine, and her three estranged adult daughters, Nell, Meredith and Lizzy . . . It soon transpires their bounds might not be as broken as they believed. I loved it (Sara Lawrence, Daily Mail)

Highly entertaining (Sunday Mirror)

It's a perfect summer page turner (Sunday People)

Sparkly characters and an engaging story show Green at her best (Sunday Mirror)

Green is women's fiction royalty . . . a compelling family drama (Glamour)

Jane Green’s best yet. I raced through this (Jojo Moyes, New York Times bestselling author of Me Before You and
The Horse Dancer)

Emotional and uplifting, it will bring sunshine to all her readers (Veronica Henry)

I'm in AWE of Jane Green. A truly gripping read (Marian Keyes on Summer Secrets)

Warm, witty, sharp and insightful. Jane Green writes with such honesty and zing (Sophie Kinsella on Summer Secrets)

Bestselling author Jane Green returns to form with this life-affirming novel . . . This novel pulls on the heartstrings, but also feels like coming home. A perfect summer read (Bristol Post)

A moving tale of love and loss (Woman & Home)

A perfect summer read (The Scotsman)

i is sad when a good writer makes a mess of her novel. If only Green would have stuck to the story of Meredith because with Meredith the daughter of the film star who has the one night-stand with her Art teacher which Green handles so beautifully this was so entertaining.. I was willing to accept the Mother and the documentary maker plus the odious Derek but the other sisters and the scenario of the dying mother was something which Iwould not share with the elderly. Did no one tell Green that people don't buy books for summer reading if they are going to feel miserable reading about inoperable cases.?

I am a fan of Jane's books and look forward to them but found this rather disappointing. It just seemed to skate over the surface of so many tough topics-terminal illness, assisted suicide, affairs, and none of that worked for me. The characters didn't come to life. But I kept turning the pages and finished the book!

Wasn't sure in the beginning, I couldn't identify with Ronnie at all; Suddenly got caught up in the daughter's stories and saw Jane Green at her best! A really good story which truly touched on my relationship with my own mother. Very insightful, very real, thank you Jane for showing me that relationships don't have to be perfect to be loving!

Having loved all of jane's books up to press I purchased this before launch. There are always life lessons that can be learnt through her words. She is indeed a very insightful person and writer.

This book touches on relationships and how hard all relationships are. It also gives a real understanding of how we may behave towards others has a massive impact on those relationships. All of us can see something of ourselves in this book if we are completely honest. It's a magnificent read and although has some sadness it also shows that there is a lot to be joyful about.

I usually love Jane Green and pre order as soon as I see them on Amazon. This was no exception. Unfortunately I found the story rather dull and didn't really connect with the characters until the last few chapters. The book lacked depth and empathy. Not a triumph.
