Anyone reading these reviews should be aware that there are two films by this name, different versions of the same story, one from 1976 starring George Burns and Walter Matthau, the other from 1999 starring Peter Falk and Woody Allen. Amazon it seems are not aware of this and are duplicating the customer reviews across both versions. The '76 version is a classic, not seen nearly as often as it deserves, with career-best performances from both leads and strong support from Richard Benjamin as the exasperated son. The '99 version, despite strong leads, struggles to hold a candle to it. Don't go buying it then wonder what the fuss was about - most of the glowing reviews here are actually for the other film.

This film reminded me that no matter how old you are you have not seen it all.

I have a grandmother with alzheimers disease and found this film particularly up-lifting. For one reason or another this movie has a real feel good factor.

I found the film to be well made and sparkling with impeccable acting of truly sypathetic characters.

Lots of great lines and nice performances form all 3 leads - and the whole story is touching and funny. Despite high production values something about the look of the whole thing feels a bit 'TV Movie'ish and you can't help but comapre to the earlier film version which this doesn't really match. Always nice ot see Woody Allen having fun with a part and reading somebody elses lines for a change
