5.0 out of 5 stars Life Changing 17 Mar. 2013
By Nastassia Stark - Published on Amazon.com

If this book won't change your life, I don't know what will. Sunny's life is something that I have come to look up to. I have been a Christian for almost eight years, and I know God moves in the best ways.

Sunny is not a perfect person, but her life, as depicted in the book, is as perfect as it can get. Every time she makes a decision whether big or small, she asks for God's guidance. She is always led by the Lord, and I love how she is satisfied by Him. She submitted everything to the Will of the Lord and everything just falls into place. She did not insist on being worldly, like the way of her parents, but rather she is a Godly person.

Her love story was perfectly written, too. She is so blessed with her man. Their love story serves as an inspiration to me, and I know it does too for the other men and women as well.

I'm wondering if Sunny is a real person and if this is her story as it is or if it is based on someone else's. Well, either of the two, I wanna meet the person. I will always remember this story in my heart and the change it made to me.

1.0 out of 5 stars The reviews of this book are amazing 20 Oct. 2013

I can't believe the glowing reviews. Could it be the author's friends and relatives? I'm just asking. The writing was juvenile. The dialog was stilted. Conjunctions used where there shouldn't be any or were incorrectly used. The typos were astounding. . ."Sunny shuttered with excitement". Really, she shuttered? Sentences were oddly structured and even more oddly worded. "they heartedly agreed", "spose not", "she ended up abandoning her wherewhithal". Punctuation was missing, causing weird sentences "You shouldn't be you will be fine." The relationships were odd and awkward. Too much "chitchatting" and "blushing" going on. The Longfellows were supposedly good friends of Sunny's, but I never saw their first names. They were referred to only as Mr. & Mrs. Longfellow (although I have to admit, I didn't read the whole book because it was so painful). I'm grateful I didn't spend any money on this book and will be putting this author on my don't read list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Devoted to God 15 Jan. 2013
By Dee Dee - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Are miracles for real? I am often asked this by my younger children who hear the stories of the bible and wonder with wide eyes about the fascinating and marvelous deeds that Jesus performed so long ago. They think that nothing like that could really happen, today. In this wonderfully written novel, Christianity and indeed modern day miracle workers are held up for all to see. What would it be like for someone with those powers? What would follow: fame, fortune, exile? The author tackles these issues with ease in a believable story about a young woman discovering the path that God has laid out for her. Instead of fame and fortune, the heroine finds purpose, meaning, and everlasting love. A wonderful tale of the road not often followed, in a land far away, living a life devoted to God.

I absolutely devoured this book, reading it in one sitting. Ok it was 4 hours! But I couldn't tear myself away. It really was a Christian Cinderella story, complete with a 'virtuous' tall, dark and handsome mystery man.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! 14 Mar. 2013

An uplifting story about the power of faith and God's provision for one's life, Sunny Beam (Holy Lion) follows the young woman Sunny as she travels using her prayer to heal people. I absolutely love the intoxicating descriptions, because they really put you in the moment as the Sunny works through her issues and travels to exotic and beautiful places.

Watching Sunny struggle through her choices to find the wise, honorable path is truly uplifting, not to mention helpful. You will enjoy seeing the winding romancing as the special couple fall for each other in so many ways. It felt more like poetry than prose as L.A. Ramsey tells of this stirring cross-cultural romance.

A beautiful story of Charismatic faith meeting the needs of people, this novel explores the romantic turns one's life can take if they are truly willing to follow their heart. Any romance lover will fall head over heels for this beautifully written book, I know I did.

I almost never quit reading a book before the end, but this may be an exception. This is one of the worst written published books I have ever tried to read. The story might be interesting, but I can't really get into it for all the errors. I feel like this was written by a non-native English speaker. The language is very stilted and confusing. The grammar is so poor that many times I have to go back and try to parse the author's intended meaning. I'm sorry, I really want to know what happens, but this is not acceptable writing.
