Size: Micro 2+
After reading all the reviews on this product i decided to gamble which I thick most people are doing when
buying something that has all the functionality this device has at the price it is.

I tested this device on a LG 42" (42LG70YD) TV and a Acer 19" pc monitor (P193w, with hdmi to vga adapter)
with a Kingson Datatraveler 8gig & 16gig pen drive/memory stick
the files I tested :

Battle Los Angeles - Full blue ray 1080p into MKV 7.2 gig file.
Inception - blue-ray compressed 720p into a MP4 3.4 gig file.
Wall-e - blue ray compressed 720P into a MKV x264 699mb file.
Horrible Bosses - DVDrip 700mb AVI file.
Audio files in MP3,WMV,FLAC,OGG
Picture files in JPG,PNG,GIF

The Result ?
This device did not skip a beat on anything.
I was abit worried at first because of the reviews about juddering playback and stuff like that
but after time i was just trying to make it fail.
pausing, playing, pause again, fastforward, stop film, resume, pull the memory stick out during playback .etc
and it just isnt giving up.

Downsides ?
Well...umm...The remote? maybe? I can kind of see peoples views on the remote being shoddy
but really you just have to accept that the remote is a very very "good value" product or "cheap" in other words
and pointing it directly at the device will get the job done and plus the usb input is next to the remote signal receiver
so make sure it isnt blocked by the usb cable or memory stick.

Overall.
For £30 its a steal.
Get it in the basket.

Hope This Review Helps.

I being 17 years old am constantly short of money. Hence I came up with the idea of getting rid of all my CDs and DVDs and just have raw data on my computer which can be downloaded for free. However, I had a major problem. I had to play everything on my laptop and it doesn't have the best quality picture or sound. I love music and movies. They are both a big part of my life so not having a good unit to experience both was a problem.

When I found the Cylcone micro I thought it wouldn't work. It's so small and how can it play videos when windows xp can't play videos without codecs. I don't know how, but by some sort of wizardry it plays a lot of my files.

I say "a lot" and not "all" because some AVIs cannot be played but this seldom happens. and even if it can't read it, they can be converted quite easily in under 10 minutes to a format it can play.

I have everything media and data related on a Western Digital 500 gb hard drive. Plug in and go.

Some people have been complaining about the remote but I find it ok to use, the only problem being you have to point at the tiny cyclone in the corner and not the TV, no big deal though.

I have heard of it totally formatting other customer's hard drives. I think this might be down to poor choice of hard drive. With something as fragile as an HDD holding 500gb of space it's best to not settle for less. I researched WD and they seem to be one of the biggest companies in external hard drive technology and it hasn't let me down at all, even when using it with the cyclone.

I Love how it can be played through HDMI and AV. HDMI is as you would probably guess, a lot better, but the AV is only a composite at the end of the day.

This is a no fuss plug and play gadget for your media files. I'd have to admit that at first I was sceptical as to its versatility as a media player, but then again all I wanted it to do was play my stuff on my TV set. It has played everything I've asked it to so far - VOB, AVI (also with subtitles), MPEG4, DIVX, MP3, WMA and WAV all without fuss. The user interface and remote control are no frills, basic and easy to navigate and yes, it recognises sub-folders/directories (a concern that I have read via another review elsewhere). The upscaling feature works well enough - (I guess if you were that bothered about picture quality you wouldn't be using low-def files in the first place...).

For £22 and free delivery I am very happy with the product and would recommend it if you, like me, just wanted to play your music and films through your TV.

pros: cheap, easy to use, plays your files no fuss, fits in your pocket
cons: no internal memory, no shuffle feature for tunes

Incredible. A solid, well-built and reliable product about the size of an IPOD. Plugged in straight out of the box, connected my external hard drive, selected AV on my TV and there it was, working perfectly. No software uploads, no configuring, no complexity at all. Simply plug it in and away you go. I did not purchase the additional cables which were recommended as you are supplied with an AV 3-into-1 cable (red, yellow, white into Black). This gives a great quality already without having to pay any more. A really quality product which does exactly what it says on the box. All of my own movies are stored on a Toshiba external hard drive and range from xVid, AVI, MPEG4 and they all work well. The menu shows the files and folders that you have already created on your hard drive and allows easy access using the supplied remote control. I cannot recommend this product highly enough. The future of movie playing at a very reasonable cost.
