This is an absolutely beautiful book, it brings to life a whole range of dishes that i simply never been exposed to. I attended a cookery course run by Sumayya in Oxford and so I already had attempted a couple of the recipes here, however the vast majority were entirely new to me.
The recipes are clearly written and the beautiful pictures are a real inspiration.
UNDERWHELMED by the recipes. If you like collecting 'good looking' books to add to your shelf then this one is a good one to add. If you are, however, looking for inspired recipes from Pakistan - not the dishes you see in many other south Asian cook books or eat at Pakistani / Indian restaurants, then I'd suggest to skip this one. It's a nice read with some wistful anecdotes but when you are paying sums like these for a decent cookerybook, it is with a mind to learn something new, be inspired and actually gain a deeper insight in to how things are cooked in people's homes! I think the author isn't aware that nowadays people are more clued up on cuisines of the world.
Absolutely loving this cookerybook with authentic Pakistani recipes..Traditional techniques ,simple spices and ingredients. Its a culinary cultural document of Pakistan narrated beautifully by the author.
