About the Author

I write fun, flirty fiction, with feisty heroines and a bit of an edge. Writing romance is cool, because I get to wear pretty shoes instead of wellies. I live in a mountain kingdom in Derbyshire, where my family and pets are kind enough to ignore the domestic chaos. Happily, we’re in walking distance of a supermarket. I love hearts, flowers, happy endings, all things vintage, most things French. When I’m not on Facebook, and can’t find an excuse for shopping, I’ll be walking, or gardening. On days when I want to be really scared, I ride a tandem.

A fabulous summer read that left me with a smile, and feeling warm and fuzzy inside! I've read the other books in the series, but this could easily be read as a standalone. Can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series, which I've just spotted on Amazon (Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop). This is one of those feelgood stories that left me mentally planning my perfect wedding - even though I'm married!

This is such a gorgeous book - engaging, amusing, moving and uplifting. I've read the previous Little Wedding Shop stories so it was lovely to revisit familiar characters - it was like catching up with old friends over a huge slice of gorgeous cake! - but it would be just as enjoyable if this was your first foray into Jane's Cornwall. Highly recommended!

What a joy it is to be back at The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea, with its wonderful cast of characters, both the regulars and the new ones. It has felt like I was returning to an old friend, warm and comforting, while on some occasions making me smile and laugh a lot.

If you haven't read the other books in this series, you are missing out on some great stories, but in terms of Summer at the Little Wedding Shop, it can be read as a standalone book. The main focal character is Lily, and the previous books featured others associated with the shop. However if you have read the others, you will be glad to know that Poppy, Sera, Jess, Rafe are all back, and we a thrown into a very busy wedding season, in Cornwall.

Kip Penryn is in town and comes from a family of men not to be trusted. He is setting up his own wedding business in a family manor house, despite knowing nothing about Weddings. Poppy is worried this could severely affect her own wedding venue, and enlists the ladies at The Little Wedding Shop to do some spying, and one upmanship.

Lily who is the shops newest wedding stylist, is persuaded to play double agent and report back her findings while styling any of Kip's bookings. Or at least that was the initial plan!

There are three main weddings to look forward to in this book, Immie to Chas, Natalie to Miles and then Lily's mother Barbara to Dave. Of course nothing is simple, as Natalie and Chas were meant to be getting married to each other in book 1 of the series, and there is a great rivalry between Immie and Natalie, on instagram as they both organise their weddings. Natalie is a real bridezilla, as is Barabara, and Lily is meant to be styling all three of these wedding.

Summer at the Little Wedding Shop is the third instalment of The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea series from Jane Linfoot. By now fans of this series will be well familiar with the various characters and their back-stories and will be eager to see whom this new book focuses on. New readers will find this story a complete delight to read as it is a nice, light, easy read perfect for the summer holidays. New readers needn't worry that they are missing out on what has happened before in these stories as the background information to each character is nicely filled in so everyone is up to date with where the characters are when we meet them just in time for the busy Summer season at the special shop that is Brides by the Sea.

I have to say I found filling in little bits here and there very useful as it was way before Christmas when I read the last book and I had forgotten characters names and what had happened to them and that's purely because I had read so many books in the intervening period. New readers may find the initial introduction of so many characters a bit confusing but you soon settle in to it. To me it was a much needed gentle refresher, within the first few chapters I once again felt right at home in the story and Jane has worked her magic and created a fun story based all around weddings with lots trials and tribulations to endure before happiness and peace can somehow be found.

This time around the story focuses on Lily whose life is now in free fall. She has split from Thom and on top of that she has lost her job and the accommodation that went with it. She enjoyed her job and had worked her way up to a good position in the hotel chain but this had taken her away from her long held passion of flowers and creating fabulous arrangements.

Just to clarify, Summer at the Little Wedding Shop IS the third book in the series, however, the books can be read as a standalone and it isn’t a necessity to have read the previous books before you start this one. That said, you might find it easier to connect with the characters if you have already read the other books. Jane Linfoot does give reminders of the characters lives as the story unfolds, but it really would stop those ‘huh?!’ moments when various characters popped up (again).

Personally, Summer at the Little Wedding shop has got to be my one of my most favourite books from the series, with the previous novel Christmas at the Little Wedding Shop, coming a close second.

Lily is stuck in a rut and has a huge, grey rain cloud camping above her head, just waiting to rain on her parade; especially seeing as Lily’s mother seems to enjoy leaving a bitter taste in her mouth by trying to be the Cornish version of, Cilla Black! To bide her time, Lily has been given the role of ‘wedding stylist’ in the wedding shop itself, a role where no Lily has gone before. Literally. All she would need is one larger than life (personality) bride who knows what she wants, to ease her into the role gently….right? Ha…ha…..

Once again, Jess manages to make me laugh out loud whilst covering my face with my hands. She is such an amazing character to read about, even if her ideas are extremely farfetched! Got to give her her due though, she manages to pull them all off, including giving Lily the new role!

I could just imagine the look on Lily’s face when she went to meet with the rivals in the storyline, seeing as there is a lot of history with the rival and his family. I’m sorry to say, but, I could not stand the bloke at first.
