Interesting short story but has a fair few spelling and grammatical errors, along with some words just plain missing. The story also has an abrupt ending which didn't really explain much of anything but yet didn't really leave you wanting more.

A Summer of Spiders is an interesting story but desperately requires proof reading. There are so many spelling, grammatical mistakes and missing words that the book reminds me of a school essay hence the title of this review.

A mad scientist, military experiments and mutated spiders: what's not to like? Reminds me of the 1950s creature features I used to see at the cinema.

To summarise this story giant killer spiders run riot in a sleepy American suburb. The writer is clever by keeping the tale focused using two related groups and a third party in flashback. This story is certainly interesting and the germ of the idea is exciting but I think the author lets himself down by not correcting obvious errors in the text. As I read, the action interested me but the nuts and bolts surrounding the tale were lacking polish. What could have been a five star review only makes four. With a bit of effort I'm sure the author could make something really quite good of this book. I'd still encourage readers to pick up this story but don't be too harsh of it's mistakes.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Formatted - Decent Story 21 Mar. 2013

I got this book for free and read it on my Kindle Keyboard. This book needed to be better formatted. There is wide spacing between sentences. The story while somewhat interesting is a bit cliched and and it really needed to be proofread better. There are words missing from sentences and the structure of the story needed to be worked on to make it flow more natural.

Caught in the web from word one. Loved the setting, timing was great, survival instinct was dead on, etc.... Can't wait for the next one from Patick Mullen.. Dean Koontz watch out! If you don't like spiders it will make you dislike them even more... Puts me in mind of Kindgom of the Spiders ....

short read but good , liked the authors style , made me get the creeps last time i went in to the attic, only complaint is the science sounded more like modern day tech then 70,s .loved the ending . will keep an eye out for more from the author
5.0 out of 5 stars Late Night Saturday Movie 21 Jan. 2013

This would make a great, simple monster movie. And the ending is not typical. As usual, don't mess with nature if you want to live.

It is a terrible book. Too many grammatical errors to count! I think a child could write a better book.
