the characters in this one were well defined, I love Dr Nick, took my breath away, love the Christmas angle and the fact that it was in Australia was a novel twist, will be checking more Christmas in Australia books now, nice to see how the other half live, will be checking out more from this author, I love her style she hooked me early in this one

This read very quickly and easily. Not a deep story but more a sweet little diversion. I liked the Australian setting, enjoyed the cute animals in the story, and thought the Aussie hero was sweet and sexy. I love Aussie heroes. I wanted to like the heroine more, given her background, but she lost me some with her complete over-reaction at one point in the story. Other than that, she seemed a little bland to me.

There is an epilogue, but I wish there had been more to it, like maybe set a month or two in the future. That could have added more depth to the romance, showing this couple later on. The editing's fine, there's no sex or sex words here, just a bit of kissing, and overall, it's a simple, sweet romance with insta-love. A pleasant, no frills, easy read.

By Book Gannet TOP 1000 REVIEWERVINE VOICE on 8 Dec. 2014
Format: Kindle Edition
I really like this series, with it’s Australian sunshine and cute animal interruptions, but I this one is my least favourite of the four I’ve read so far. It’s just all so far-fetched. Holly travels halfway around the world to house-sit for some people she met when they were on holiday – er, okay – and Nick is a billionaire who moonlights as a vet every so often as a break from big business. Suuuuure. Add to that an attraction that is instantly love, and yeah, not my favourite, even before everyone starts inviting this complete stranger to up sticks and move to Oz, because emigration really is that simple, folks!

If you can suspend your disbelief over several of these whoppers, then this is as sweet as the rest of the series. The animal antics this time come from a box of abandoned collies – who all find homes way too easily. I know collie pups are cute, but in less than a week? Really? – including the obligatory runt that no one but Holly wants. There’s also a brilliant cat who owns the world – I think he was my favourite bit of this whole book.

In all it’s okay. If you’ve been reading the rest of the series, you will likely enjoy this one – however, since Nick’s only the locum it’s not a vital read either. If you’ve not read any of this series before, you won’t feel left out, but I’d recommend the rest of the books over this one. It’s a sweet, quick read, there’s a bit of Christmas cheer in it with cute puppies and the Australian sun. If that sounds like your kind of thing, then enjoy.

(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

This is actually a sweet little romantic story, a very light read with enough pace in the storyline to keep the momentum going. I have to admit I’m not really into reading about romance, as most of these books are a bit ‘too mellow/corny/too blablaba’ for me. But I read other books from this author on a whole different genre (the Bighoneydog series) and knew that she writes very well, pleasantly and vividly, so I thought to give this one a chance. You really get sucked into the story and feel like you are getting along for the ride. I’m still not a romantic reader, but I must say I was again pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed reading it, especially after a hectic day full of stress and just come home to relax with this little story. It is a lovely read with a touch of humour and a good pace. Looking for a short relaxing escape? Then I can recommend this book.

I do love a christmas romance, the snow, the cold, the cuddling to get warm, well usually but this is slightly different, it's christmas in Australia so we have sun, sea and a barbie.
Holly has no family she was brought up in foster care but she finds herself house sitting in Australia over Christmas, her first day there and she finds a box of abandoned puppies, she rushes them to the vet and there she meets Dr Nick Forrester, part-time vet, full-time billionaire and just generally a really nice guy, and you know the rest.
This is a nice simple Christmas romance, no surprises, no drama just a feel good clean read. Overall I liked both the main characters, well I really liked Nick, Holly I'll admit grated on me at times especially early on but it's Christmas and it's a romance so just go with it, plus it's free.

Holly Scott helps a woman who becomes ill in the restaurant where she works in Missouri. She continues to help the woman and her husband while they are visiting. They live in Australia and ask her to house sit and care for their cat while they travel. It's a dream come true for Holly who didn't have an easy life growing up in foster homes. When she gets to Australia she can't believe the huge, beautiful house. And it's on a cliff overlooking the ocean!

When Holly finds a box of puppies on the doorstep she takes them to the vet. Turns out that the vet is not only gorgeous but the neighbour of the people she is house sitting for.

I really enjoyed this wonderful Christmas romance. Ms. Hanna is a very illustrative writer making it easy to picture the events taking place. Christmas in Australia is so different from Christmas in North America. I didn't have any trouble envisioning this story even though I thought I would since it's summer in Australia in December.

If you are looking for a sweet Christmas romance that's a bit different (it was for me because of the different seasons) this is a good one to try.
