There is an epilogue, but I wish there had been more to it, like maybe set a month or two in the future. That could have added more depth to the romance, showing this couple later on. The editing's fine, there's no sex or sex words here, just a bit of kissing, and overall, it's a simple, sweet romance with insta-love. A pleasant, no frills, easy read.
If you can suspend your disbelief over several of these whoppers, then this is as sweet as the rest of the series. The animal antics this time come from a box of abandoned collies – who all find homes way too easily. I know collie pups are cute, but in less than a week? Really? – including the obligatory runt that no one but Holly wants. There’s also a brilliant cat who owns the world – I think he was my favourite bit of this whole book.
In all it’s okay. If you’ve been reading the rest of the series, you will likely enjoy this one – however, since Nick’s only the locum it’s not a vital read either. If you’ve not read any of this series before, you won’t feel left out, but I’d recommend the rest of the books over this one. It’s a sweet, quick read, there’s a bit of Christmas cheer in it with cute puppies and the Australian sun. If that sounds like your kind of thing, then enjoy.
(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
Holly has no family she was brought up in foster care but she finds herself house sitting in Australia over Christmas, her first day there and she finds a box of abandoned puppies, she rushes them to the vet and there she meets Dr Nick Forrester, part-time vet, full-time billionaire and just generally a really nice guy, and you know the rest.
This is a nice simple Christmas romance, no surprises, no drama just a feel good clean read. Overall I liked both the main characters, well I really liked Nick, Holly I'll admit grated on me at times especially early on but it's Christmas and it's a romance so just go with it, plus it's free.
When Holly finds a box of puppies on the doorstep she takes them to the vet. Turns out that the vet is not only gorgeous but the neighbour of the people she is house sitting for.
I really enjoyed this wonderful Christmas romance. Ms. Hanna is a very illustrative writer making it easy to picture the events taking place. Christmas in Australia is so different from Christmas in North America. I didn't have any trouble envisioning this story even though I thought I would since it's summer in Australia in December.
If you are looking for a sweet Christmas romance that's a bit different (it was for me because of the different seasons) this is a good one to try.

Really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down. A feel good read, even if the 2 main characters do fall in love too quickly!Published 6 months ago by Laura N Bren
