Rotating iPod/iPhone/Mobile/MP3/MP4 Holder that can be fitted to the dashboard or air vent. Useful for a variety of devices, as it can adjust to the different sizes. Careful: does not work for iPod Nano (square shape). Comes with a small stand, which can be permanently mounted on a flat surface with the attached adhesive base. Apart from moving up and down, the stand can also rotate. Has a clip for air vents.

However, I DO own a Creative Zen MX player.
However, (again), there seemed to be no in-car mount for this type of player, (I've even queried this with Creative and they've confirmed this).
In the end, I decided to look at ALL these types of products, regardless of which player it was designed for.
After carefully studying the photos on the advert, I worked out that this product MIGHT just be suitable for my Zen.
Hallelujah! It WAS!
Not only that, but this holder gives you the opportunity to view your player from multiple viewing angles as, apart from up and down, it also rotates, which is really neat.
I should imagine that one can pretty much view most screens that the two 'spring-loaded clamps' (with 4 rubber protective pads/grommets) will hold, and it certainly fits perfectly well in my car's air-vent slots as it was designed to do.
As a bonus, it has a place at the back of the clamps to wrap around your headphones to store them more conveniently when not using, (though I've yet to use this feature).
Also, (and a another feature I REALLY like) is that it also comes with a small stand which can be permanently mounted to a flat surface with the attached adhesive base.
Again, I haven't bothered to use this sticky pad as I don't want it to be a permanent fixture,(in-case I sell the car in future), as I found that the stand (with the clamps and mp3 player attached) will easily stand upright without using the sticky base at all (but not in a moving vehicle, obviously!).
However,I imagine this will depend on the size and weight of your particular player, though it was certainly robust enough to handle the Zen MX!Read more ›
However, having had it for a couple of weeks and trying various ways of positioning it, I realise the holder isn't quite suitable to sit on my car's dashboard / centre console for me to use an iPod Classic from the driver's seat, playing through the car's stereo system.
If I stuck the base unit to the only accessible flat surface near the driver's side, it would be on the lid of an essential compartment which needs to be opened. The holder would therefore prevent this and also get in the way of accessing the cigar lighter for plugging in chargers, accessories, etc. The self-adhesive 'base' unit is therefore not usable in my current car, a Renault Megane Scenic (2003).
Using the air vent clips at the back of the holder, it does fit into the centre air vent fine, and the grip mechanism is actually very good to hold an iPod securely. The only criticism is that the weight of an iPod Classic is a bit too heavy for this unit to keep the iPod facing you. The iPod gradually droops down so it rests against the air vent and whatever is beneath it. Not a major problem, but when you're driving and want to select new tracks, you really need to reach across and move the iPod so you can see the screen and use the controls. That probably means waiting until you're stopped at traffic lights or in a queue... or even pulling over for a few moments while you select your next tracks. I guess that's what we should all be doing for safety reasons anyway!
If you have some kind of remote for your iPod / mp3 player, then you'll be fine.
So --- the holder itself is very good, but think carefully about where you would place it and whether it would actually be usable in your vehicle.
The iphone isn't held securely and comes out easily. The vent clasps are not strong enough to keep the holder in place and when it is there the angle joint isn't strong enough to keep the phone in position.
but i only have bad news i am afraid when you put it in the air vent it only just holds in with nothing in it as soon as you put the ipod in it drops out straight away and the dashboard holder sticky pad does not stick to your dashboard
and finally when you put your ipod in the holder it just squeezes it out because the pegs are too short i would think it would be fine with a mobile phone but not the ipod touch or iphone
The holder does a good job of holding iPod/iphone on the dash but that means leaving the base attached permanently via the double sided sticky base. What I did was to remove the sticky pad and attach velcro to the base so that it could be removed when not in use - all you have left on the dash is 2 small strips of black velcro that blend in a bit better. When attached to your air vent the iPod stays pretty much in place but it is not sturdy enough to hold an iPhone in the position I wanted - it would drop down every time. Not a problem when playing music but if your using your iPhone as a sat nav you cannot see the screen fully.

Easy to fix in car, but putting the phone into the cradle is tricky because it slips out of the arms too easily.Published on 13 Mar. 2013 by Stuart Lynas
Holds the phone very well, tilts to any angle you could need. Only problem is it doesn't stick to my dash with the provided tape on it.Published on 6 Dec. 2012 by charlotte morgan

This item is listed to hold the ipod nano. It certainly cannot as the nano is so small, which was the sole purpose for buying it! Epic fail!Published on 3 May 2012 by Mrs. D. Oakwell-Smith
