Product Description

Product Description

Three cheerleaders from Lincoln Highschool are also best friends. The team captain Diane has fallen in love with one of the quarterbacks and unexpectedly become pregnant. So Diane calls on her two friends for help - she wants them to help her rob the local bank. Soon the trio mastermind one of the most biggest heists ever seen in the town and they must pull it off before the start of the big game.

From Amazon.co.uk

Sugar & Spice is a broad satire of American high-school hierarchy set to a sparkling pop soundtrack and featuring many, many shots of cute cheerleaders in tight sweaters and short skirts. "Their cheer blew like a bulimic after Christmas dinner", sneers Lisa (Marla Sokoloff from Dude, Where's My Car?), a bitter B-squad cheerleader who has it in for the A-squad. She's come to the police to solve the mystery of a local bank robbery--a story that begins when head cheerleader Diane (Marley Shelton) and star quarterback Jack (James Marsden) fell in love. Before you know it, Diane's knocked up--but she and Jack are delighted and decide to get married. Their parents disown them immediately, so the young couple ends up in a crappy apartment, working low-wage jobs. They're both so unrelentingly earnest and cheerful that they won't lose heart, but Diane soon realises that their incomes won't support their impending twins. Then, one night as she and her squad (including Mena Suvari of American Beauty) are watching Point Break, they get the idea to rob a bank. The cast is enthusiastic: Sokoloff in particular savouring her atypically nasty role, and there are cameos by Jerry Springer, Kurt Loder, and an almost unrecognisable Sean Young. --Bret Fetzer, Amazon.com

When i bought this film i was expecting it to be another film about cheerleading but when i watched i laughed and laughed. I never thought it was going to be that funny, all the cast were a scream. Being pregnant, trying to cheer while living on your own without your parents is hard and the film shows that.

''Sugar And Spice'' may not be the ost original film of the year. And the fact that it is straight to video may put a lot of people off but if you give this movie a try, I am sue you will enjoy it!!
The film is about ''The A Squad'' consisting of a popular girl,A holy joe,a geek,a rebel and a sex maniac with an unhealthy obsession with American T.V host Conan O'Brian. When Diane [Marley Sheton] falls pregnant by the new quarterback footballer Jack [James Marsden] the team take drastic measures to secure her financial income [for her expected twins] so they do the thing every teenager does with money problems....THEY DECIDE TO ROB A BANK!!!
''Sugar And Spice'' consists of great performances, witty one liners and an appealing performance especially from Marley Shelton. Not to all tastes yet rent before you buy.I loved it,you will too.Better than Clueless,Bring It On and all the cheerleader films you have saw.

i saw the positive reviews and decided to buy it. big mistake. the film started promisingly, but by the end i was just wondering where the past couple of hours went. the acting was poor, the characters irritating, and the story boring. i love point break and thought the idea of a group of teenage cheerleaders imitating it was an interesting and amusing idea, but it was executed so poorly. don't waste your time watching this.

Mena Suvari in a cheerleading outfit--that's why I bought this movie. I'm not ashamed to admit that. This movie has more than just Mena in a cheerleading outfit, though--it has several other attractive young ladies in cheerleading outfits. Mena aside, this is just a fun and entertaining movie. There are some people who would call this movie lame and silly, but who cares about those overly serious people? All movies don't have to be dramatic passion plays that enrich and inform our lives. Sometimes, there is nothing better than a good, "dumb" high school movie, and this is one of the better ones. A group of "A Squad" cheerleaders end up robbing a bank in order to help support the unborn twins of the head cheerleader, who continues cheering into her seventh month of pregnancy. In the process, hilarity ensues. It's a funny movie, and that is all it is intended to be. It won't win a Best Picture Oscar, but it provides a welcome escape from reality.
For obvious reasons, I'm sure this movie will appeal more to male viewers than to females. The girls in this movie are gorgeous, especially Mena (of course). In a way, this movie portrays young women asserting themselves, working together to accomplish their goals, so maybe there is some educational value in it. Or maybe not. It annoys me to see other people saying things about how this movie could be a bad influence on youngsters. So the main characters gets pregnant and ends up getting her friends to help her rob a bank. If there has been a rash of pregnant, teenaged cheerleaders dressing up as Betty dolls and robbing banks since this movie came out, it's news to me. This is comedy, folks. The cast is great, and one reason they are all great is because they all overplay their characters to maximize the levels of satire and comedy.

Featuring a good cast, Marley Shelton, Mena Suvari, Brittany Murphy etc. Reminds me ever so slightly of the plot of spring breakers, the bits before they get to the beach. I always wonder why Marley didn't become a bigger star.
