The practice tests in this are heavily biased to the type you get in assessment centres for the consultancy firms but they do challenge the grey matter and really do show the principles that you need to have embedded to do well on verbal reasoning tests. However, if you're coming to these raw this book could cause despondency unless you're resilient enough to persevere until you improve!
if you are required to take verbal psychometric tests then this book is a useful start. It covers most of the different types of verbal testing criteria on the market, it has some useful practice exercises and it offers some interpretation of why these tests are used. Unfortunately I think the book and the examples will quickly become outdated.
