For those who appreciate graffiti for the art form that it is, and the history behind the early days of subway art this book is the bible...with cracking images from two hands on photojournalists who were able to work alongside the teams of the 70's and 80's.

I cant recommend the book enough...great photography, snappy, informative text, we at Lavelle's gallery - [...] - appreciate the documentary that this book provides

Great read!

Love this book. What an important piece of social, cultural and artistic history this is. The writers and the photographers who followed them all shine on every page. They don't make em like they used to. Pure class.

-the original documentation of the graf scene in ny-interesting and a necessity if youre into the graf scene. This is often looked apon as the graf 'textbook'for anyone who is interested in it.I would say it is the best but recently there has been 'the art of getting over' which documents better and more modern styles. However, a well earned 5
