I just want to know if the dvd has subtitles in english. Its a bit hard to follow what they are saying sometimes, and I read that the bbc edition had subtitles, but i couldnt find that information anywhere on this site.

If so that's great for me. I can read in english what I've problem with it's with the listening, specially with the diferents accents.
Don't worry, my english it's not perfect either, I'm spanish but thanks a lot.

Having just received this boxset, I can confirm that it does have English subtitles. Described as 'for the hearing impaired' they do of course faithfully transcribe what is being said and sound effects etc so help any viewer, whether deaf or not, to follow the series.

As Robert51912 stated, there are English subtitles for the hearing impaired. I've noticed with many DVDs that Amazon is not good when it comes to supplying info about subtitles, which is very annoying.

Isabel , I am spanish too, and HOH subtitles doesn't disturb me at all. You only read
some indications as "dogs barking", "music playing softly", and remarks similar
to these ....
Y have the same problem as you, I have some difficulties to understand the
different accents specially when I see police series ... they speak too fast ....
Buen fin de semana .....
