"The inclusion of multicultural issues throughout the book is great. Too many texts ignore these populations and fail to realize how one's ethnicity and culture impacts their diagnosis, clinical presentation and treatment. I like how multiculturalism is infused into many of the chapters and not just given lip service." --Ce texte fait référence à une édition épuisée ou non disponible de ce titre.

I found this book a very useful introduction into the field of substance abuse counselling. It covers many areas of substance abuse and considers different approaches in dealing with the problem. The short exercises at the end of each chapter help you to get a more personal feel for what the book is trying to get across. A must read for anyone intending to study this field of counselling.
