There is an XLR input channel for you to plug a mike into but the reverb control is only for the other (guitar) jack input channel. This means that you cannot use reverb to improve the sound of your vocals if your singing voice isn't too good. I am not a good singer and a bit of reverb would have certainly helped, but the only way I could use reverb on the vocal would be to plug the mike into the other channel and plug my guitar into a different amp. A disappointing oversight.
My other gripe is that there is no headphone socket so this amp is not suited for practice in private. This is a remarkable oversight and a feature which would have meant I had no further need for my Stagg 10watt practice amp (which has no XLR input but does have a headphone socket). A headphone socket would not have been difficult for the manufacturers to install, but it's not something I would attempt to fit myself.
Nevertheless, the amp sounds really good so if the shortfalls mentioned above are not a problem to you I highly recommend it. There is also a socket on the back which - if I plug in a spare guitar lead I can plug the other end into my practice amp which then becomes a slave amp and recreates the same sound as the sub zero (with the reverb / chorus effects) which of course would be a great asset in a group as you could position one amp on each side of the stage.
If the headphone socket had been fitted and a reverb control had been available on both channels I would have given this amp six stars out of five. Oh, and I think I would have preferred it in black cos I'm not a fan of colour...
On paper this amp seemed to fit the bill well. I am using a zoom a3 pedal in front for reverb and modelling so haven't really used the on board sounds.
The amp is really excellent and I'm really pleased with it. Sound is great, volume is loud and clear, build quality solid and features match well with what I need. For less than half the price of its competition I would definitely recommend trying one out.
On trying the amp out with guitar and an mp3 player it does the job nicely . It has a very good chorus and delay sound .
Small and compact but boy it has loads of power .Not just for practice ,This amp could do a small gig. Love it..

A good solid no nonsense amp and great value. I purchased it to use to play an ipod through and it gives good loud volume without any noticable rattles or distorsion. Read morePublished on 24 Nov. 2014 by john little
