The latest addition to the franchise is based in Thailand, it scheduled to be the most gripping yet. New arrival on set, stunt double Calum (self-adoring too), could be a problem - he longing for Finn to come to grief so he can take over. This could so easily happen, for filming seems cursed. So much going wrong. So many accidents. Death an ever-increasing possibility.
The first book was great, this a most worthy sequel. Newcomers need not worry, they at once drawn into high speed adventures full of humour and scares - dangers most real, genuine surprises. Finn narrates, loving the job but aware of his limitations - not too good with horses, unexpectedly at one with elephants. A lot is going on here. A real mystery - who is the saboteur on set, placing lives in peril? Several suspects. For Finn, especially moving, is a revelation that shocks.
A book for children? Not just for them. This will appeal to all young at heart.
The story is full of adventure and mystery, with a lightening pace for a gripping read. This book is suitable for readers aged 11+, but is also suitable for adults. A great story that spans generations for enjoyment.
It is a brilliant combination of adventure, adrenaline fuelled action, wonderful characters, exotic settings and a plot that demands your time.
A little bit of the surreal thrown in for good measure and this really is the book that I would (and often do) recommend to anyone over the age of 11 who loves a good adventure.
