When my package came from Amazon (two days after I ordered it, so I experienced fast shipping), I was a little surprised when I opened the box. Instead of the usual little square watch box I normally see with watches, The amazon contained a very posh looking rectangular box. This may not be a consideration for some of you, but personally I like keeping my watches in the boxes they came in when not in use, and really like this one. In addition when given as a gift, it will be harder to guess what it is when in wrapping paper.
Now on to the actual watch. The first thing I noticed when I picked up the watch is that it simply feels like a well made piece. It seems like it is extremely durable, as it just feels more solid than previous watches I have owned. As to whether it actually will hold up over the tests of time, I can't say yet. However I will attempt to update this review a few years down the line. I scanned through all the bells and whistles that this watch is capable of and was more than satisfied in that regard. This is not real important to me in a watch so I will leave this aspect to be covered by another reviewer. I will finish off and say that if you like the watch in the picture you will love the way it looks on your hand.
I wore it to the office about 1-2 times per week. I never got it wet or dropped/hit it. After 5-6 months the watch started having mechanical issues. The second hand gets stuck around the 18 second mark and won't progress. It keeps clicking forward to 18 and then jumps backward to 17 (Interstellar?). The minute and hour hand won't progress any farther once the second hand gets stuck. I've tried winding the watch several times but the second hand always gets stuck at the same spot eventually.
Chef does not recommend.
My biggest problem is the band. The band doesn't feel very secure, almost as if it will fall apart any minute. I've got an old Fossil watch and I'm seriously considering having the band switched out.
