Plot is how a retired army captain, Don, takes a job as a high school teacher and due to the pressures he faces in school and in his life one day he snaps.
Film opens with bloodied bodies all over the place and a girl's face covered in blood trying to escape. It's a great opening to the film but sadly it fails to deliver. The credits came in before we find out if she gets away. Then we see a bunch of kids getting detention and Don is seen getting a reprimand from the principal who is giving him one last chance. Don is in charge of the detention and leaves the kids for a short while. We get expositions of his back story in flashbacks and later the janitor telling the kids bits about him.
It's a slow paced film that's more drama with some action than horror. The deaths are mostly a bit on the weak side in presentation and visually so a bit lame. But this is very low budget and as entertainment goes it's worth a glance but for me it was nothing special and I was disappointed by the end which I did not think was very satisfactory. I was also confused about how the start fit to later on and who the girl trying to escape was and whether she did get away. Iether I missed something, there were some boring moments, or it never got explained/shown properly or I wasn't paying proper attention to what was going on.
Extras nil just trailers. USA Release Region 1.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ed Wood would've hated it. 7 April 2008
By Brent Thomas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD Verified Purchase
Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space" is often credited with being the worst movie ever made but I beg to differ. At least that movie was entertaining if only to laugh at the not-so-special effects. That's more that I can say for Study Hell - it is absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen. I'd give it no stars if I could. I'm embarassed that I actually paid good money for it. With one exception the acting was terrible and the dialog was stupid. One actress was so bad I don't know how she got the part unless she's the producer's niece. My wife teases me about buying "cheesy" movies and this one's going to be hard to live down.

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST.MOVIE.OF.ALL.TIME!! 10 Feb. 2011
By Jason - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Braindead script. Laughable cinematography. Horrible actors (the principal looks offscreen once to check her lines). Atrocious lighting. Crackhouse bathroom audio. Middle school drama class gore. It's almost like someone gathered all their neighbors together and decided to make a movie. It's so amatuer that a member of the crew can be clearly seen walking up stairs in the background of one of the "tense" scenes. When a movie screams Mystery Science Theater 3000 within two minutes, you know it's going to be one of the worst movies you've ever scene.

The setup: A blatant ripoff of the Breakfast Club has an assortment of kids in after-school detention. Poorly supervised by a troubled teacher named Mr. Keller (close to Killer, eh?), the kids are an atrocious attempt to duplicate the original cast of Ringwold, Sheedy, Estevez, Hall, and Nelson...except every single one of the boys is a nerd and only the female, brunette, loner looks remotely like her original counterpart: Sheedy. Complete with an old creepy janitor who looks like a beat down Mr. Belvedere (he's the only guy who should ever be allowed in a movie again), this movie may as well have been entitled Breakfast Hell. Guess who the killer is?

The worst part about this movie, aside from everything, is the kid who is supposed to be Judd Nelson redux. Supposed to be tough, he comes off more like a dark-haired Napoleon Dynamite. He's so irritating, I'm sure his mother was hoping he'd be butchered mercilessly in the first five minutes.

I've seen Manos: The Hands of Fate, The Beast of Yucca Flats, House of the Dead, and an assortment of horrible movies from other genres - like Glitter ::shudder:: - that are widely thought to be the worst of all time, but I can honestly say I hated this movie more than any other. Ever. I didn't even have fun making fun of it. I rolled my eyes so hard on multiple occasions that I gave myself a migraine. If you get this DVD, burn it.

1.0 out of 5 stars AVOID at all costs!!! 22 May 2010
By Dr. Tom's Reviews - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Let me see if I can summarize this utter disaster of a movie for you. Take a few high school kids with no acting talent whatsover, combine with a few older actors with even less talent, mix with a script that could only have been written by a high school drama club freshman. What you get is one of the worst things yet put on video. Essentially, what this movie boils down to is a blatant ripoff of the 80s movie The Breakfast Club (complete with all the sterotypical characters - including an Ally Sheedy semi-Goth, a nerd, the pretty chick, etc. Of course, it pains me to even mention this movie with that iconic 80s' film, but that's exactly what this is - a very poor attempt at borrowing that concept with some utterly moronic attempt and twisting it into a horror movie (and trust me, there's not one scare or good surpise in this), and that's what you get with this. If you do rent or buy this, you will be furious at having given up your hard-earned money - so, consider this fair warning: avoid this one at all costs! This is deifnitely one Amazon review that weeps for the fact that there isn't a "zero star" rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Flick... 12 Dec. 2007
By David - Published on Amazon.com

I just got this movie in the mail yesterday. I was pleasently surprised as I got further in to the movie. This movie has the same actress as "Dark Fields", and after watching that, because it is a little drawn out in places, I wasn't sure what to expect from this. But I loved it. Classic high school scene, the acting wasn't bad and there was a good ending which left room for part 2, (HOPEFULLY)... However, the idea for the killer could have been better in my opinion. I like to see the killer in a mask of some sort. Not just an ordinary guy. But all in all it was pretty exciting all the way through with a very good ending. If you live for the next slasher to be released, this is a good one...
