Review

This is a marvellous book and it will surely prove to be one of the more popular of Batsford's newly revived classic titles. --Marsh Towers

Had this book 30 years ago and gave it credit for my rating
rising from high 1700 to 1900
Retire next week and taking up chess again and looking forward
To refreshing chess idea's
Great for attacking minded player as Tal was and learns you a way
of chess concepts thinking rather than pure memory lines.
Hours of great advice.

This is a really good book, not only because of the thematic ideas but its disposition to applying fine attacking principles from Tal's perspective. It delves into the subject matter of creativity and balance and just how much flair Tal as a player had apart from combinatorial tactics and great attacking acumen. This writing is probably one the most interesting I have ever read simple to grasp for the intermediate player and worth every penny especially as a refresher to strong players also if you are trying to climb the ratings ladder from 1500<.

Admit yourself to enter the world of Michail Tal's ingenious chess ability..Many may still tink at Tal as only a combinatorial player, but all of his magnificent tactics arises from a deeply positional understanding.
