We all strive for it and everyone’s definition is different but what cannot be denied is that “Perfect” does nothing more than describe what is completely unattainable.

Nothing in this world is perfect but yet we are all guilty of setting the bar so high that getting even close is a major achievement.

But when Rachael caught her boyfriend with someone else, all illusions for her “perfect” life dissipated in that very instance. Her perfect relationship, life, job etc. all gone in the blink of an eye.

What she didn’t see on that day was that it was she who had ruined her dream by relying on him to provide her perfection. She set herself up to fail when she thought she could have the fairy tale –because we big girls learn early on that fairy tales are not real!

As if this was not devastating enough, her disillusionment was father compounded when the cheating bastard used every trick in the book, including blackmail to make sure that she was still under his control.

He kept her where he wanted her and did everything he could to make sure that she knew that he was calling the shots even though they were no longer together.

I suppose this was his revenge for the fact that she had found the fortitude to walk away from him on a personal level – because professionally she was beholden to him.

And what did Rachael do about it – well to be honest, professional not enough. She allowed herself to be down trodden by this muppet, subjugating herself in the process.

But privately she is made of sterner stuff and she promised herself that she will never make the same mistake again.

The gloss of a happy ever after was gone forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars B.L. Mooney has done it again!!! 19 Sept. 2014
By Sandi - Published on Amazon.com

Wow, what can I say, Ms. Mooney has done it again. Another 5 Star read that had me hooked. This is a part of a series but can be read with no problem as a stand alone. I read this one first and after reading it I couldn't wait to go back to the first one to find out more details about what happened prior to this book. I love these characters. Rachel, a strong female who had been hurt and Carl, an alpha male that is widowed and trying to raise his daughter alone. I can't wait for the next one in this series. I have read many if Ms. Mooney's books and have loved them all. She is one of those authors for me that I will now read whatever she writes. Do yourself a favor and read this one, you will be happy you did.
5.0 out of 5 stars 5 PICTURE PERFECT STARS! 12 Oct. 2015

Second in the Striving Series, but can be read alone.

Perfection is a gimmick.

It’s something they use to sell you s*** you don’t need. The perfect home. The perfect family. The perfect marriage. Photos of that perfect life are all around us, but none of it exists.

This story is about Rachael, a photographer. Her boss is her ex-boyfriend who she once thought was her ever after and the love of her life. Her world ended when one day she came home from a photo shoot to catch him in bed with another woman. Not only did this woman take the love of her life, soon her perfect too.

Carl Williamson: He has the perfect job, the perfect house, a beautiful little girl, and the perfect marriage. That is till his wife suddenly died of cancer.

"I know better because I take those photos. It’s all a ruse to make us think that's what we want. Behind closed doors, the house is a mess, the family is fighting, and that loving couple hates each other. I prefer a different city every week, laughing friends, and a variety of lovers."

Rachael & Carl meet at a photo shoot, but that wasn't their first meeting. They've met before and there was a misunderstanding that Rachael ran away from and hasn't seen Carl since... until now, and boy do the sparks fly!

The misunderstandings get cleared up and they have great chemistry but they both have baggage and they don't know what to do about their feelings.

they be able to help each other get through their turmoil?
I loved watching Rachael and Carl fall in love. This story was written so well and kept my attention throughout.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Nothing is perfect in this world and if you strive for a perfect life, reality will soon hit you in the face. Rachael's boss is her ex cheating boyfriend, a man in her life that she thought once loved & would soon get her happily ever. It all came crashing down one day when she came home from a photo shoot catching him in bed with another whom soon not only took her man but her perfect job.

Carl Williamson, the guy who has the perfect job, the perfect house, a beautiful daughter, but he also use to have the perfect marriage till his wife died suddenly of cancer.

"There is no perfect. Perfection doesn't exist. Life is messy and filled with things that happen daily but shouldn't happen at all; however, you pick yourself up and go forward."

Rachael & Carl have a chemistry out of this world but their lives are a mess and reality sets in that neither one knows what to do about this feelings that are quite unattainable. Rachael can't get away from her messed up Boss who is also her Ex and Carl can't move on from his late wife.

"When things get bent and broken, it doesn't mean they should get tossed aside. They just need to find the other half who can make them whole-the other half who can turn their imperfections into something beautiful."

I did like the story and it was well written but I wouldn't say it caught my attention enough to want to read it again which is how I score as a 5 star read for me. There were a lot of times in the book that I wish that it was more dramatic but never got to feel the true adrenaline rush of a page turner.

I was gifted this ARC in exchange for an honest review for a Book Blitz Tour. This is my first book from this author that I came across and read synopsis which intrigued me enough to take a chance.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book!! 29 Sept. 2014
By Stacy Hahn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This was my first book from B.L. Mooney and it will not be my last.

Everyone wants perfection, but is that really possible? Rachael doesn't believe it's possible. She thinks it's what others want you to believe. Catching her boyfriend with another woman and then being blackmailed by him helped make that all too clear. She'd never fall for the illusion of love and happiness.

For some people like Carl you do have perfection. He had the perfect job, house, marriage and family, until his world came crumbling down and his wife died. He ceased to feel anything, excerpt for his daughter. Carl used control and his arrogant attitude to get thru his day.

After working for Carl and taking family photos and other jobs, she finds herself feeling and falling for him. The chemistry is there and he wants her, but can he ever fully let himself go and not feel guilt over his late wife?

Rachael and Carl have a lot of obstacles to overcome including family drama, crazy bosses/ex boyfriend and obsessed sister in law. You must read his book to see if either were able to find their perfection together.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read 20 Oct. 2015

*I received a copy of this book in exchanger an honest review*

Rachael was a strong, smart, and beautiful woman. On top of that she was a successful photographer. Carl comes into the picture and Rachael isn't the same. Carl is smart and handsome but has a need for control. She doesn’t want to be controlled and yet they have undeniable attraction towards one another. As the two fight their attraction, something from Rachael’s past comes out and all hell breaks loose.

I wasn’t too sure how I would feel about this book due to a character from the first book in it. I was pleasantly surprised. I love Rachael’s character! She is fun, smart, and very quick on the comebacks. Oh and Amy is such a sweetheart! I really did want her to get her happily ever after. This book was a good follow up to the first one. I will say there are sensitive/violent scenes in this book so proceed with caution. I give this 4 stars
