I picked this up at the airport in London on my way on holiday and managed to finish it before the plane landed! I absolutely loved it. Sam is hilarious and full of weird and wonderful stories about her life as a dancer. I was looking for a light holiday read but this even better than that - it gave me an insight into why women become strippers, why men are so obsessed with them (besides the obvious) and what really happens in there. A definite must-read for anyone who's ever been even a little bit curious about strip clubs!

This book was a good read, gives a clear insite into the sleazy lapdancing world and the minds of the men who visit these places. Was shocked to read how much money these women earned back then. Only fault is I would of like her to of included any bad experiences she may of endured during her lapdancing years which Im am sure she must of at some stage.

I'm sure everyone says 'this is not my usual kind of book', but I'm really
glad I picked it up. Not only is it frequently hilarious, but it is
endlessly fascinating from the hair and beauty insights (some of which were
revelatory - ever heard of 'look good lighting'?) to the mechanics of how
men are systematically and ruthlessly parted from their money once they're
inside a club.

Samantha Bailey is a brilliant tour guide through a side of life most of us
never experience. Within a few pages I learnt to put my prejudices to one
side and to see the clubs and the punters as Samantha saw them. I found
myself reading with an open mouth - a good look on the Northern Line! - as one
revelation followed another. The money spent - and earnt - in these clubs
stunned me.

This isn't a misery memoir from a fallen woman, or the ramblings of a happy
hooker... it's just a really honest insight into a hidden world that reveals
a lot about what men and women really think of each other.

I guess the book is aimed at women, but I reckon a lot of men will read this
in secret on their Kindle!

Not bad ghost writing here and Samantha comes over as quite interesting [ chapters on characters that come to the club should have been expanded] , but this book doesnt really say any more than the other books around . Samantha likes shopping and gangster boyfriends , she likes money but doesnt seem that interested in sex . As she had to change so many names of clubs / dancers etc I think something became lost in her story. This is an easy afternoon read but it wont challenge or confront you as a reader .

Samantha Bailey had a "boring" job as a shop assistant until a friend recruited her to a strip club in Copenhagen. However, if you're looking for erotic literature this is not the book for you: the author tells us many times that she does not do "extras" and there is surprisingly little about sex.

But we learn a lot about the strip club business, principally the startling amount of money that men - many of whom are married - will pay for a short period of female company and a glimpse of flesh. The girls can make thousands of pounds on a good night, though the author admits to squandering it on clothes and make-up, and many of her colleagues develop drug habits.

The occasional glances behind the scenes, particularly the role of the "house mother" are fascinating, and the hints of the darker side of the business are disturbing.

Although the book is categorised as autobiography we learn little about Ms Bailey's life outside work. A good read nonetheless.

I first read about Sam in a magazine promoting the book and I needed to know more!
I ordered the book for my holidays and could not put it down! I managed to make it last over 2 days.
It is an excellent book that grips you from the first page. It gives brilliant incite into the world of stripping from all different points of view and also Sam shares her hilarious adventures which made me actually laugh out loud at the pool!!!
It is a very well written book and hope she does a sequel with even more exciting tales!! It's a must have!!

THIS IS NOT MY USUAL PICK OF BOOK, BUT AFTER READING IN A NEWSPAPER IT GOT A GREAT FEEDBACK. IT WASNT WHAT I EXPECTED AT ALL-THE GIRLS IN WORK WERE LAUGHING SAYING OH SHE HAS GOT HER HEAD STUCK IN THAT RUDE BOOK AGAIN!! IT WASNT LIKE THAT AT ALL-BASICALLY IT EXPLAINS FROM A REAL LIFE STRIPPERS EXPERIENCE OF HER TIME AND WHAT GOES ON IN THE REAL WORLD. YOU CAN BE A STRIPPER AND HAVE A GLAMOROUS LIFESTYLE-BUT NOTHING LAST FOREVER. YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE FOR A STRIPPER, BUT IN THIS BOOK IT EXPLAINS EXACTLY HOW SAMANTHA GOT INVOLVED AND HER JOURNEY THROUGH HER YOUNG LIFE TELLING HOW SHE SURVIVED AND MADE A LOT OF MONEY!
A MUST READ BOOK!!!

I was somewhat disappointed in this book - I expected more - a fresh insight into this world perhaps - which is both glamorous and unglamorous - I expected more about the physcology of the men she met and why they go to such Clubs which she touches upon in one chapter - but does not explore - more about why she danced - and the difficulties that caused in her relationships - how she perceived men - again she touches on it but does not explore - that would have been much more interesting that endless stories about the gangsters she met - I think men should read the book - it might make them them realise that these dancers see them simply as wallets to empty - and the falseness of their apparent interest in them - the dancers are not bad people - they are simply exploiting men to make money - men are easily deluded - I have been to a lap dancing bar in Edinburgh - a singularly depressing experience - this book had potential - but it was never realised - because it never really gets beneath the surface unfortunately and properly explore the dynamics between the dancer and the customer.
