This was the problem I had with this story Rhys. I just didn't like his hot and cold attitude to Allison. In fact there were quite a few times he was deliberately spiteful with his comments. Quite honestly I wanted her to move on and find someone else. I didn't really feel he was redeemed by the author. I'm not sure I will carry on with this series. The first book remains my favourite.
He believes he is unworthy of love because of his upbringing. Alison sets out to provide him wrong!
I've only just jumped on the 'Runaway Train' train (see what I did there) and I'm glad I jumped aboard.
Rhys and Allison have know each other for years, but she's always been his bandmate's younger sister and definitely off-limits. That soon changes when they grow closer whilst Rhys visits his parents in Savannah, with it culminating in a night of explosive sex. Unfortunately the next day, Rhys regrets sleeping with Allison and pushes her away. But can he resist her when she joins the band on tour for a fashion internship...?
Rhys is a very sweet and funny guy- who also happens to be a gorgeous bass player in a famous rock band. He had a cold and unloving childhood which has led him to think that he'll never find himself in a loving relationship. I did really like Rhys and especially how protective he is of his sister, although sometimes the way he treated Allison was awful. He tries to push her away, but the push and pull between them hurts both of them.
Allison has been in love with Rhys since she was 13, and it's a love that's never gone away. She's very sweet and close to her brother, Jake, and the rest of her family. Allison has a loving nature that makes her exactly the kind of woman that Rhys needs, even if he doesn't realise it.
Rhys and Allison definitely have a strong and passionate chemistry, especially once Rhys gives into it. The obstacles for their romance lie entirely with Rhys. His family history has shaped the way he feels about relationships and he doesn't want to upset Jake by being with Allison.Although I honestly didn't see what the big deal was with Jake. If they wanted to be together, I didn't see what the problem would be if they just told Jake about their relationship.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable romance, with two very likable and sweet characters who clearly belong together. I can't wait to catch up with the past Runaway Train books and for the future ones to come!
*I received a review copy for my honest opinion. Thank you!
Eli is so funny and I liked Cassie's attitude to life.
These boys still rock and I totally agree with the ending ''Our heartstrings were irrevocably intertwined'' because that's how you will feel with this series.
