From the Publisher
Whether you are a couch potato, recovering from an injury or perform Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Football, Cricket, Rugby, tennis, cycling or any of the myriad of sports or activities, you will find useful information in this book.
As we age, our muscles tighten and the range of motion in joints can be minimised. This can put a damper on active lifestyles and even hinder normal day-to-day activities. Tasks that used to be simple, such as zipping up a dress, tying your shoelace or just reaching for an item off the top shelf, can become extremely difficult. A regular stretching program can help lengthen your muscles and make daily living activities easier.
The benefits gained from stretching correctly and regularly are immense. For example it:
* Increases mobility in muscles, joints and tendons
* Improves posture
* Prevent injuries such as muscle strain
* Reduces muscle tension, helps the body feel more relaxed, increases circulation and aids in the reduction of muscular fatigue
* It reduces every day stress
From the Author
Through the years, I have sought the `Mastery of self' through various studies and my findings have led me to the conclusion, `Master the body and the mind will follow'. Master the mind, and the spirit will follow', `Master all three and your work is done'.
This book is a starting point for physical self-mastery. Keep a diary of your starting point and progress, because when you achieve your goal, you will be able to reflect on your journey and use it as a template for other journeys you will inevitably undertake.

We keep the book in the lounge and when the TV commercials are on, My Wife & I do a spot of stretching excercises, which then leads to a few more excercises and less being a pair of couch potatoes. The Commercials are the trigger to excercise! Get Up & Do It!!
The book is well written and illustrated; makes it easy to use!
This book has several timed (5-20mins) programmes including a great 15 min Yoga programme, all clearly explained with photos that show the stretches, the major muscle groups involved and the aim of the stretches.
A Great Buy.
The suggested stretching routines are easy to follow with routines from 3 to 20 minutes. Incorporating stretching into your daily routine should be no problem with this book to guide you.
