I bought this for the soul purpose to use it to power my celestron nexstar 5se telescope and dew controller.

first look at this power tank and you can see that it is built to last all the black that you see on the body is in fact thick rubber that includes the handle and the base this rubber helps with both the non-slip performance so that the power tank does not go sliding all over the place when in you're vehicle also it helps in case you knock it against any thing it just bounces of what you hit it against hopefully not leaving any damage to what you hit or it's self the handle being rubber coated helps with it's grip especially when it's cold.

the power tank has a very bright 5 LED light in front that for the size of the LEDs is very impressive the two dials on the front are clear and easy to read the left being for the pressure gauge the right is a battery charge indicator which you get a reading from when you press and hold the battery indicator button.

the crocodile clamps stow away very tidally in the side recess on each side of the body the leads are about 3 feet long and the clamps are very strong indeed the compressor it's self is very loud and not some thing that could be used early in the morning or dead of night with out letting one and all know you are using it but it does get the job done the valve and pipe stows away in it's own compartment to the rear and you get a few valve adaptors with it as well.

there is a 3 pin 230v socket this 3 pin socket being I feel the only down side to this power tank being that it is just a white plastic square face wall type 3 pin socket and as such I would think a hard knock might just crack this the socket it's self has no on/off switch on it the switch is next to it in red.

As the heading states, we now have two of these units as they just can't be beat. If you want one of these to primarily get you out of trouble if you have a flat battery, then this one, NOT the seemingly identical 6 in 1 unit is what you want.

Both have the same features, but only the 5 in 1 unit has an unbeatable power boost on the jump start. I have an estate car that has a heavy duty battery and the smaller units around just won't turn the engine over. The 5 in 1, after switching on the red booster button at the rear, acts as if a new battery has been installed. This is not mentioned in the instructions, so take note, as if you have a heavy duty battery that is flat, you will think that this unit is no good.

The 240v power inverter is a handy plus, as in a power cut you can use it to power any appliance with a rating of 220watts or less. That would not equate to a huge plasma TV, but in an emergency a small LCD TV and the SKY box would be well under 220watts. An electric kettle or coffe machine would be out of the question, however, if you have a travel kettle, this unit has 2 car cigarette lighter appliance outlets. Whilst on the subject of the car, the unit comes with a 12v car cigarette lighter lead, so it can be charged in car as you drive. That would be useful if for say you had used the unit to get you going and were driving to an airport for a trip and were leaving the car in a car park. After jump start use I always re charge the unit.

The air compressor has been invaluable too, as it allows me to check tyre pressures at home - the pressure guage seems to be quite accurate as well.

The first thing any customer must note is if you decide to purchase this power pack and then find it unsuitable for any reason then to return it is a problem and can prove to be costly. The fact that i purchased it from Amazon and then found out that the item came from a firm called Auto Style online and originated from a company called Street Wize should have made me more aware . Amazon will explain that they cannot accept a return on this item and so you end up with Auto Style online. Tried contacting them but unable to do so. I tried Street Wize for some technical help and some nine hours later they phoned me and offered advice.
The information you get with the item advises you that it has allready been recharged to a point but not fully charged . They also tell you to recharge for 38 hours on receipt and that a fully charged battery takes 34hours , but you must not exceed 48 hours. They dont tell you when they purchased the item from StreetWize and whether or not they fully charged it on receipt or indeed how long had the item been on their shelf and in what state of charge was it in before despatch to me.
I started to charge the item and after approx 36hours and regular checking the battery voltage read 13volts and the Gauge which has a green band showed charging .At this stage i must point out that i did not realise above the green band was also a % of charge indicating 100% . At the end of ( far right )of the green band it goes to a red band. What the red is for ?? Fully charged perhaps or maybe danger if overcharged. I have to pass on that as it does not get explained in the data provided.
