I first read this book when I was about 13 years old, which was 7 years ago. I picked up this book again when I was thinking about a present for my younger sister. I looked back to what I read when I was her age and this is one of the books which immediately sprang to mind. The story intrgued me when I first read it with its twists and turns and the concept of astral projection, which I hadn't come across before. At times it was also positively eerie which I, as mosy teengers do, relished. Great read for younger readers. I also read her other books and Lois Duncan didn't dissapoint.

This book is one that i have remebered from my teenhood and recently found at a carboot sale and couldn't resist buying. it was a tatty copy but looked well read and on reading it again i found why. i couldn't put it down and yet couldn't explain why i felt compelled to finish it in one day. it drew me in and then i felt emotionally exhausted on completion. Lois Duncan must have really researched this book with all it complexities. well done not many writers can have that affect.

I read this book when I was about eleven. I founfd the book in my school library. Till then I've read all the lois duncan book I could find.

For those of you who never read the story

Well the story is about a girl. When she is seventeen, she discover that she was adopted. What's more she also finds out that she got a twin sister. Her twin sister also knows that she was adopted, but she is very different from the heroine and through a spooky psychic method called astral projection, she goes to find her sister. But the other twin soon regrets ever having been found- and realises that some things are best left in the past and forgotten.

This was a fantastic book I recommanded for any age.

This story is absolutely brilliant and I recommend the read - it definitely captures your attention!

The book is about a strange phenomenon which is of course fiction - 'astral projection' but there are some accounts of people claiming to have had this experience which is very intriguing if you look these up.

I recommend you read the book before researching anything as this book is best read without prior knowledge of astral projection in my opinion.

I think I read this when I was in junior school - I remember it being called "Astral." Would this have been the British version of the same book? Anyway, it was a great read but as I had borrowed it from the local library I couldn't keep it for long. I have searched for the details of this book for years and finally found this, which must be the same one.
I would highly recommend this story to anyone who likes something different.

Sheer brilliance. I first read this when I was 15 and have reread it numerous times. Very cleverly written, full of suspense and utterly intriguing. Quite a shock at the end. I'm 45 now and still enjoy picking it off of the bookshelf again and again.

This is the story of Laurie Stratton, a seventeen year old school girl from Brighton Island. Laurie, recently emerging from a chrysalis from nerdy geek to beautiful teenager, is your normal teenager until something happens. People begin to remark on seeing Laurie places she hasn't been, Laurie's boyfriend dumps her because he caught her with another boy and her friends avoid her because of something she says. What's more, Laurie gets this feeling that someone has been watching her, that someone is getting close to her.

Lois Duncan, the celebrated author of I Know What You Did Last Summer and other teen suspense novels, writes for teenagers but, in my humble opinion, treats them as adults. Her novels aren't brash quick reads that are full of superficiality and cheap thrills, they are real, thought out, chilling. The characters have more depth and are far more believable, making them more enjoyable company for an evening's reading.

Stranger with My Face is my favourite Lois Duncan novel owing to the beauty of the writing along with a chilling, intriguing plot. I applaud Ms Duncan's use of the setting and the passing of the seasons to evoke the turmoil of the story.

This is a first class story and one for all teenage suspense fans to pick up, become engrossed in and enjoy!

My mum read this when she was my age (11) and because I've really the twilight saga and vampire diaries she thought I would like it.....I did...I couldn't put it down and although the concept of astral projection is pretty spooky and the book is a little creepy in that sense I absolutely loved it...reminded me of 'my spooky sister' but heaps better....really recommend it
