I enjoyed this book because it relates the history and reflects on the present situation in Bradford in a very readable style, informative, but not too academic. In the 19th century, Bradford was one of the most important and affluent cities of the world, and its rise and fall make fascinating reading, as do Mr. Hall`s comments on its present situation and hopes for its future. The illustrations, especially the modern photographs, are excellent.
