Oh yes, and something about a film. I enjoyed this concise account, which was well-written, lively and well-paced. I'm not a fan of films and film-lore generally, but despite that the writing pulled me in and the phytoplankton - fish - shearwater bit was interesting and well-explained. A nice treat for a tired brain on an Friday evening.

Excellent book describing the basis of the story in great detail in a very interesting manner. Chapter three then then moved into the making of the film and Hitchcock's choice of cast. As usual this author feeds the reader really interesting but peripheral facts connected with the subject of the book. Fascinating read.

A short review of the movie. For a quick background this is an easy read. For more in-depth on the movie I would order the dvd The Girl.
