I so enjoyed the first book in this series. I loved the connection between the two characters- Elizabeth and Gabriel.
Unfortunately, in this book that connection has disappeared. Besides sex they have no connection. Not only that but Elizabeth changed to an annoying, pathetic, self absorbed woman. Had she always been like that and the author just had not shown us, the reader? Maybe. But it made this book so Longwinded and annoying at times.
I think this is my last hurrah with this series. I have no interest in reading the last book. More of the same, no thanks.

I'm really enjoying the Storm Trilogy but I find this book especially, is ruined by the author trying to add in words she thinks makes Gabriel sound British. These words are not used and make a mockery of what was a great Trilogy! I wish she'd taken more time to study the use of the English-language, some of the words have not been in use since Victorian Times and have no place in a modern day setting.

I can't say I was dying for book two to be released but it was a decent enough price and I thought why not.

I did not enjoy this book as much as first one and I skipped most of the pages, I liked Gabriel's character in the book, he will never live up to my other alpha males but he is likeable and believable, however Queen Elizabeth has adopted a new harsh, moany and ungrateful attitude in this book and I really disliked her character, I think that is what made be want the book to be over. She is just horrid, * SPOILER* I thought maybe when she became a Mother she would soften and show some loving feelings and emotions but she got worst!

I did like the story line and it was well thought out but hated the transformation of the lead female character and I think all in all the book could have been reduced by 20% .

No idea if there is a book 3 - as there is no finale to this one but on a bonus no cliffhanger either. I do doubt I will purchase any follow ons as I have no real hunger to know what happens to sexy Gabriel and his ungrateful Queen Elizabeth.

I am a fan of this author, and I really enjoyed book 1, I do think she is a talented writer, so after what seems like a long wait, i immediately purchased book 2. It is a decent story line, just that special something is missing. The story line and characters didnt grasp me, there was no wow factor! I felt at items it was rushed, to the point where it become pointless and boring, and some parts were predictable, I also think to much happens in this book for one book. I admit I skipped quite a few of the pages. I do like Gabriel's character in this book, we some what see more of him; but Elizabeth OMFG she is so annoying and indecisive in this book to the point where i wanted to give her a good shake, this to me made the book unrealistic, Gabriel is giving her what ever she desires, and all she wants to do is whine on and take a 4 day job with a man who her her husband (the man she apparently loves) can not tolerate - the enemy? i MEAN COME ON!!
I just didn't feel the chemistry with the characters. It was like something was missing. I put this down to the possibility that to much happens for this 1 book, that i felt it was all over the place; Gabriel's memory loss, his mother who is just insane!, his father who is murderous, we find out his sister isnt really his sister but his half sister, because of some infidelity/affair, his mothers long time employee who is treat like muck getting murdered, His brother who was suppose to be dead; in fact isnt dead, and his long time friend and confidant turns on him! the list goes on! to top it off its all one real mix of emotions that go up and down, which is good IF it wasnt happening constantly, to the point where hit gets confusing at times silly.
This book seems to have a cliff hanger where she waLks away, I am assuming that there will be a 3rd book?? if thats the case ill doubt Ill be purchasing it. SORRY!!

I loved the first one, and love this one even more. Elizabeth is in a predicament, alone and pregnant, then after a few months Gabriel waltzes back into her life with proposals for her to consider. Elizabeth is harbouring a secret to protect Gabriel, he can't remember everything due to the accident but he will do anything to keep his child and her. Plotting, lies, deceit by everyone, can Elizabeth and Gabriel make it through. A great read and I hope it's not long until the next book. Well recommended.

Now I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first n couldn't wait for the 2nd book but......there was just something that just wasn't right. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe Gabe, he seemed too controlling. Couldn't warm to him. Liz seemed too much for herself. Marry for a year, then hand over her son n walk away. Found it hard to warm to her too. I will probably read the final book on release, but hope for better.

great, great story. I was in tears a lot. The Countess was so evil trying to kill Elizabeth as well as Gabriel. His father having strokes upset everyone especially Brianna but more was revealed. Don't miss this one.
