There's a rose to cross stitch, it's on paper but this is too fiddly for me - Aida will do for that one, then there's the ribbon edging and the crochet edging on those slips, buttons to cover and decorate with cross stitch or crochet etc, so much to do, so little time. I've always loved fabric covered books, the one in here is decorated with a cross stitch alphabet, red on ecru, cream or white will be wonderful, and there's just the thing for a kitchen windowsill - gingham flowers in empty little water bottles, these are decorated with paper - again this is something Eline designs, but nothing to stop me from using any which appeals.
The birds and their houses is one of my favourites, these are going to be made in my bathroom colours so I can show them off to everyone going in there, my efforts will not be in vain!
There are so many lovely ideas in here (45) and instructions aren't that comprehensive, but the pics are good and anyone who's a crafter will be able to adapt and overcome as it were, besides they're all pretty basic a degree won't be a necessity for them.
The projects include fabric baskets, fabric birds, cushions, a pin cushion, book covers, bags, bunting, a purse, hanging hearts, fabric flowers and many others. The good thing is a lot of the projects are fairly small and simple so could be made pretty quickly and there are plenty to choose from so you are sure to find something you like.
The cross stitch, crochet and embroidery patterns are in the back of the book along with templates. For the larger projects (like the bags, book covers etc) there are diagrams showing what size and shape fabric you need to cut. There is also beautiful photography throughout the book of the finished projects but no step by step photos or diagrams to accompany the written instructions on how to actually put them together.
If you are a fan of vintage style you are sure to love this book.
As a relatively newbie to the sewing world some of the projects will need a bit more skill but, that is the idea, as the lovely projects that I found in this book are so different and interesting that I knew I had to have my own copy to experiment with ideas and projects and to learn a bit more sewing knowledge and practice.
Well worth the money, a lovely book to own.

Lovely book with some nice ideas that reflect the current boon in crafty items for the home - eg embroidery hoops to hang as wall decor. Lots of nice clear templates too.Published 15 months ago by Kelly A19
