I have just finished reading 'And still she wept'. It is a terrific crime story. Well written, well narrated. You have it all, the serial killer, the suspense, the gorgeous southern sheriff who happens to be a woman, the rugged hardened New York detective, the FBI profilers the heartbreak and the unlikely romance etc... for readers who like fast paced book, maybe this one is not fast paced enough, as the author took his time with police procedures, backgrounds. But for readers who like to know every detail, like me, it makes a wonderful story. The book is quite long, but it is needed to develop the story. What can say more without revealing the plot? I have loved this book and only at the end, you understand the choice of title. I cannot say you get into it straight away, maybe after the first 10 pages. Another thing that I have truly appreciated, is that the swearing is not overdone. Obviously, you have a bit, but really, not much. I am going to check other books by the author.

I loved this book because it actually got into the minds of all the characters. Instead of the two main characters jumping into bed we were party to their feelings and reasons as to why they held back. It was great to get into the mind of the killer and find out why he turned out as he did. Would recommend this to my friends who enjoy this genre !!

I was engrossed with this story, stayed up all night reading it, loved the characters, especially Reilly, I had great empathy with his feelings.
This writer really touched on the truth of personal grief.
The thriller itself was unusual, and well worth a night of anyone's reading, especially insomniacs.!!

Loved the end, and I would Love to know what happened to Claire and Reilly afterwards, a follow up, please??

An excellent book. Guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. The action kept on throughout the whole story. Descriptions were a little to detailed at times but this for not detract from the story. Roll on the next book.

Excellent read kept me hooked until the end with not an including as to who the killer was. Good read for those who like to be kept in suspense all the way through would be good if there was a follow up to know what happened to the investigators.

But in a good way. Yes, it is a long book and I must admit that it took me a while to fall into step with the authors' style of writing. But, once I got it - I loved it;TC Barnes is a truly gifted writer.

I appreciate the important insight into each character and the intricately detailed development of the plot. There is absolutely no chance that the reader is ever going to misunderstand any person, or any part of the investigation as the author holds your hand and leads you unfalteringly all the way through.

This book has everything; strong emotional characters, pathos, intrigue, murders, some swearing and a skin-crawling autopsy to boot!

It also has several typos and in particular an irritating chapter about halfway through the book, when the proof-reader or editor couldn't decide on the spelling of 'Jamie' or 'Jaime'. However, not the author's fault I'm sure.

Despite this it was a superb book and I would recommend it to the discerning thriller fans.

N.B.
To 'JoeG' - reviewer on page 28 of customer reviews - the word 'nonplussed' means 'unpeturbed' in North America, which of course IS the opposite to the english meaning.

Brilliant. I loved it!!!

I love this kind of story and it had me hooked. I reckon that a sequel would be in order.

My only niggle is the use of the 'f' and 'c' words.
I don't see the necessity for them and they take the edge off what I am reading.

Other than that, It was a great read.
