With his gaunt looks and wild hair you could be forgiven mistaking him on stage for 'the handyman' Riff Raff from "The Rocky Horror Show" musical and half expect him to deliver that unforgettable song "Time Warp". But believe me, in the world of comedy Steven Wright is not 'Riff Raff' but the king of slow, deadpan delivery of ironic, philosophical jokes and one-liners, delivered in his distinctly lethargic voice. In comedy continuously since 1979 he acknowledges the influences of Woody Allen and the recently deceased George Carlin.

This follow up album to "I Have A Pony", was released in 2007 and is from the material he wrote for his first stand-up special in 16 years "Steven Wright: When The Leaves Blow Away", originally aired on Comedy Central on October 21, 2006 and contains some quite exquisite examples of his surreal, wit/word' and observational humour.

"The Hitchhiker", "My Grandfather", and "I Met This Woman" during which he asks "what is the opposite of a restraining order?" when telling of his instant attraction to a woman he had just met, are my choices from this great collection. Although I laughed a lot at the three songs which included "The Kitten Song", a rather grisly take on the usual portrayal of cute, cuddly and sweet little kittens.

This complex genre of wit does not get any better.

He never fails to make me laugh. I quote him all the time. My sort of mind set.

Great stand up gig but it is the same as 'When the leaves blow away' which I have on DVD making one of them redundant in my collection.

The king of the one-liners is at his best in 'I have a pony'

I've used tracks from this album for two reasons...maybe three. One reason: He's hugely funny. Second reason: So little to offend anyone with cheap language Third reason: He's clever. And funny...I know I said that earlier. I have the first album as well. Both should get 5 stars.
