Not finished yet, but so far, phew! Wasn't sure how Mr Leather could continue with the adventures of Jack, but thank the gods & demons he has done. Everything unexpected & more..... With each book, I'm feeling more & more drained. But I love it. And Jack. Where can I send my valentine card???

I give this five stars as I give all of Stephen leathers books. I really enjoyed reading this short story. It's always a bonus when other characters from other books appear like Perry and t-bone..... Excellent, am looking forward to the next Jack nightingale full or short story, I recommend these books to all super natural book lovers and if you enjoy these then it's worth checking out all Stephen leathers other thrillers Stand alone and the Dan spider shepherd series.

This is a great read, another short story before his new novel comes out in January which I can't wait for.

Jack as usual gets dragged into something supernatural and as always with these books, you cannot wait to see how it ends up - wonderful as always :)

Jack Nightingale is hired by a Vatican priest to look into a young girl claimed to have miraculous powers. Jack's suspicions kick in as Stephen Leather writes a marvellous short story full of snappy dialogue and suspense with a compact entertaining storyline that begs a longer follow-up.

I enjoyed this as an interim measure between books 4 and 5 - which I have still to read. I enjoyed it although it was different from the other novels but was still a development of Jack Nightingale's character. I really like this series and am a great fan of Stephen Leather anyway especially his Spider Shepherd series.

Another great story from Stephen Leather, short and sweet but gripping. You won't want to put it down. This could easily have been a full length novel, but it has enough content to still get the magic of Nightingale.
Really enjoyable read.

Jack Nightingale has appeared in 4 novels to date (the 5th, Lastnight is published shortly) and this is the second short story that Stephen Leather has written to accompany the novels. In this one, Jack is called in by the Catholic Church to investigate a case of stigmata in a 12 year old girl.

As far as an introduction to the character goes, `Still Bleeding' works really well and for those of us who have followed Jack Nightingales adventures since `Nightfall' was published, this will be a good fix until the full length novel comes out.
