I saw this show live three times, and have been looking forward to this for 18 months. The show is brilliantly filmed with an amazing audience in Argentina. It's also one of Madonna's more energetic and fun tours after the darkness of Drowned Word, Re-invention and Confessions. Hard Candy may not have been one of her best albums, but the live performances of the new songs have been beefed up for the show, and songs such as Candy Shop and Spanish Lesson sound much better than on the album. The dvd also contains a great 30 minute documentary and the packaging is well designed.
Now for the negative points. The majority of the show has unfortunately been ruined by way to much editing to Madonna's voice. I saw the show live, and despite using a few backing tracks and having two backing singers, she did sing live for virtually every song. I can only recall Give It 2 Me been partially mimed as it was the last song and the dancing was non stop.
Sadly, the vocals on the dvd have been edited in such a way, that the live feel has been stripped from the show, and it almost comes across as a mimed Britney show. It's hardly going to stop people like Elton John from slagging her off as a live performer. Some songs are okay though, You Must Love Me and Don't Cry For Me Argentina sound fantastic, proving she can sing, but others such as Human Nature, Heartbeat and Borderline sound completely fake. I know Madonna's not the best live singer, but there was no need to edit her voice this much!
The live cd is also a bit of a let down (just like I'm Going To Tell You A Secret and Confessions Tour). More tracks could easily have been included. The Gypsy section also flows extremely badly, and it's obviously where certain songs have been cut out.
All in all, whoever put this together did a poor job with the audio, and has spoiled what was a great show.

Well I have recorded the show from SKY! I can not hear any difference between the TV version and the DVD version, the whole voice editing thing is ridiculous! The DVD contains LIKE A VIRGIN which Madonna sings almost in full accapella with the audience (not shown on TV) and does not have the credits spoiling GIVE IT 2 ME, unlike the SKY broadcast. Also there is a 30min behind the scenes special on the DVD, menu etc and a beautiful booklet with photos. It's really good value for money. The quality is superb. I saw this tour in Berlin and London and it's great that I now own the Buenos Aires show, as it also contains Don't Cry For Me Argentina, which she only performed there. I agree there are too many audience shots, but it gives an idea how big the stadium was, I believe 100,000+ fans! The live CD is fantastic, I play it nonstop, especially the Like A Prayer Live Version. Anyway I am quite happy with it and hope that the Re-Invention Tour'04 live in Lisbon will be released, too one day.

Firstly I ordered this as new and told that it was brand new and sealed but when it arrived in the post it was crinkly, smashed and the discs kept falling out the case, so be careful when you order your copy.

Despite the packaging I was very impressed with the concert, she is really energetic for a 50 year old and performed through a long setlist, a mix of her most famous hits such as Vogue, Ray Of Light, Like A Virgin, Like A Prayer, Hung Up, Borderline and 4 minutes an some non singles from her most recent album at the time Hard Candy such as Candy Shop, Beat Goes On, She's Not Me, Miles Away and Heart Beat. Although it seems more of a workout than a concert it is very god and very worth it.

Oh my, I thought nothing could top her Blonde Ambition Tour but this concert is simply outstanding, in my opinion this is her best album and tour to date. Madonna is just superb, her energy is amazing and she really looks like she is enjoying every minute of it which just makes it even more enjoyable.

This DVD really captures the vibe and exhilaration of seeing M live with just enough shots of the Argentinian audience to set the scene. The concert is filmed really, really well and the sound quality is great. The concert ends with M whipping the crowd into a complete frenzy leaving them (and me) gasping for more. Its the best end to a concert I have ever seen, the audience must have left this concert on such a high! My only moan is that they start running the credits before the last song has finished which is really annoying!

If you want to see why people pay top money to see 50yr old Madonna perform, watch this DVD.

Turn off the lights, turn up the volume and you will enjoy it like you are there in the audience (oh man, do I wish I had been!).

I just want to say before I write this review - Will everyone please stop comparing Madonna who has been around since 1983 to Lady GaGa circa 2008. Lady GaGa is the flavour of the month right now, and is very good in her own way. However, Madonna is an Icon - Like Michael Jackson, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Dietrich and Dammagio lol. You cannot comprehend that GaGa is in the same league as Madonna. It's idiotic, and Madonna has the sales figures to prove it for the last 25 years.

Anyways, here's my review:

Firstly, why being a mahoosive Madonna fan have I rated it 4/5 stars? Well, personally I don't think there is anything iconic here. She celebrates her Iconic looks (She's Not Me), but does nothing really that new, it's really just a more up to date crowd pleaser on the back of The Confessions Tour, which I believe is far far better. With Hard Candy I think for the first time Madonna is following other artists into the R&B foray, when really she should stick to what she is good at.

The Vogue remix with 4 Minutes and Like a Prayer are standouts here for me, but I don't think she excels herself as much as Confessions. Don't get me wrong, the tour is by no means boring, there are some great moments - Madonna doing jump rope, Madonna's Music remix with Fedde Le Grande but it does seem to lack something. I think it just comes down to the fact that personally I don't think Madonna should have joined the band wagon by reinventing herself as an R&B artist, I far preferred Disco Madonna!

The coustumes are great, and show her to her advantage and as always her dancing is flawless. It just seems a bit middle of the road. A bit repetitious - the whole 'time isn't going to wait for you vibe' -She did this with 'Hung Up' it didn't need reiterating with '4 Minutes'.
