This is a book that cannot be betttered, in fact there's two volumes, the early career and life growing up that sets the way for this one volume two Day by Day. The tours, the music, the albums, the man ,his band Double Trouble, his friends, ththose he worked with ,the effect on those he met and was musically involved with including of course Daved Bowie on the Let's Dance album, the rehersals for the tour he pulled out of. The radio broadcasts, the venues he played, it's all here in abundance. Full of posters ,album cover art, photograghs hundreds of them, the guitars, effects, amps, everything anyone could ever want on one totally unique and stunnong artist, and throughout he comes over as a very pleasant man who resected others whether his band, the big names he worked with as well as the many fans he met and signed autographs for.
This is in every way possible about as good as it gets, and gets you to enjoy his music even more if that's possible for one of the absolute greatest guitarists ever when it comes to the electric guitar. So get your boots on, turn it up, get down to some real Texas boogie as you read these wonderful books, and you do need to get both for the full story of a musical genius who out of Texas brought his music to the world, but so sadly left us far too soon. A ROCK CLASSIC PAIR OF BOOKS !

A very well presented book using quality paper. The book contains photographs on almost every page. Each day lists gigs, tv performances, recording dates etc., interspersed with anecdotes from friends and colleagues. In my opinion what made SRV a great man was his humanity, music and musicianship. Sadly the latter two qualities are not really discussed. Perhaps they would be of little interest to most people, but I would have liked to have read about them. So a great book for getting the facts on SRV and his performances

Well researched and written, well documented with an amazing photo collection. Couldt put it down, once the book had arrived.
Gives a good insight into Stevie's music achievements,
his strainous struggle early in his carrier.
his rise to stardome and his final years once he had overcome his addictions.
We can only wonder what might have been.
