This is one of the best presented books I have ever seen. Its insightful and shines new light on him as an actor, his technique and his status as an icon. Clearly considerable time and effort has gone into painstaking research. On top of the high quality of writing you also get superb image after superb image, proving just how great the cinematography was on McQueen's main films. The unseen images from Bullitt, Thomas Crown Affair and others are worthy of being hung in any art gallery. A must for not only fans, but anyone with an interest in film and photography.

This book is really wonderful. It is a very beautiful book with chapters on all Steve McQueen's films. Each chapter starts with some general information about the film, and then you can read all kinds of background stories and anecdotes. There are also loads of beautiful photos in this book.
Almost fivehundred pages full of Steve McQueen, I would say this book is a book every Steve McQueen fan will want.
I have it on my coffeetable (it is beautiful enough for that) so I can pick it up and read in it when I want. I love this book and I am very happy I bought it.

Being a huge Steve McQueen fan I of course ordered this book as soon as it came out. Having met Andrew at a previous McQueen event, I knew his passion would shine through on this and it did so without fail. His knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile makes this one of the best books on McQueen out there. It is a thoroughly detailed book with new photos I hadn't seen before. We are lucky to have such fans out there who go to such great lengths to learn more about Steve McQueen and share it with us.

I would highly recommend this book to any Steve McQueen fan, you will not be dissapointed!!

An excellent book as other reviewers have detailed a must for McQueen Fans, a wonderful reference volume. Unfortunately my copy arrived in an appalling condition which was nothing to do with the transit process, the other items in the box were all fine. The dust jacket looked very well worn, it was scratched and had dried in moisture droplets over the front cover, water or a beverage possibly. The dust jacket also had a small tear in the bottom spine area. I contacted Amazon and was advised to either arrange a home uplift (not waiting in all day thanks) or take it to a "collect point", this involved use of my car, whilst my local Post Office is only a walk away, that doesn't seem an option now. I opted for a refund and have purchased the book, same price, from WH Smith online with free postage. This isn't the first time I've received a book from Amazon which is less than pristine, I feel a new book should be wrapped in "film" to protect it. The Warehouse Operative who packed this book clearly didn't examine it. Very disappointing and a lot of hassle for the customer.

This book is BIG! Like the other reviewer says, 500 pages long. There's lots to keep you interested here - from the anecdotes to the never seen before pics. A great addition to my collection. Highly Recommended!

This book is an absolute must-have for all Steve McQueen fans. It traces the journey from McQueen's early work through to the most seminal movies of his career and I enjoyed it immensely. What made it so fascinating for me, is that not only is each film given a comprehensive critical overview, alongside some amazing on-set photography, but we also learn what McQueen's underlying motivations, hopes and fears for each movie were as well as a close examination of his relationships with his co-stars. This is what made it standout vs. other McQueen works, which tend to either focus solely on the man or his movies. This delivers both, in spades.

This book is brilliant. An investment I'm so glad I made. It's massive in terms of the book's size and the achievement of the authors. There aren't many books which manage to be so informative yet so nice to look at. It would make a great gift.

It contains lots of information about the man himself but also goes into his films in detail (I guess the book does what it says on the tin!) which means it's useful as a reference guide. The pictures are incredible too - candid life shots, film stills and even foreign film posters make this a great coffee table book too. You will need a strong coffee table though!

This is a glorious book! The pictures are simply gorgeous and full of life and the detail in describing Steve McQueen's movies has brought a new level of appreciation to an actor that I have always been a fan of. This book is clearly a labour of love and Mr Antoniades (and colleague) should be proud of this beautiful piece of work.

It is fabulous in every way and I do not hesitate to recommend to all. Buy it, Baby!!
