A great manual for developing your leadership skills in the 21st century digital age.
I have all the classic business / leadership books on my bookshelf - from Simon Sinek and Stephen R. Covey to Seth Godin and Daniel Goleman. This book belongs alongside them.
It is well organised and easy to digest: it's a step-by-step guide to learn and apply the key aspects for growing yourself, your team and your organisation. Leaders aren't born, they are made. It's a set of skills that you can nurture. And this book explains how to do it!
What I like about this book is that it addresses the challenges of leading teams in a modern environment - fast paced, digital, and diverse. There are additional insights on each topic from industry leaders (such as Martin Sorrell and Martha Lane Fox) scattered throughout, and even a playlist of songs to inspire you at the end of each chapter.
Best of all there are checklists and tools to help apply the principles learnt.
I will definitely come back to this book again and again.
If you know anyone driven, this is the perfect gift. This is not simply about getting advice, many books do that, this is about having clear goals, plan accordingly and most importantly taking action and deliver. With clear steps that can apply to many areas of life and business. Is like you sat down with one of your Idols, she inspires you to imagine what you can achieve, and when you are going to say bye she says ... - I ain't going anywhere ... You are not taking this path alone. I'll guide you every step of the way-
“Stepping Up” is another title in a long list of management guides, manuals and pieces of inspiration aimed to motivate and support their target audience whether that target is specific or general. This book is focussed on the digital sector but others will find it a useful source of ideas and information.
I have to read a lot of business books as part of my job and this stands out in 3 ways. First it's written by a business leader (not a consultant like me!) Who has actually done the hard work of building a business and doing it in away that attempts to really take its people's needs into account. Culture is clearly a big priority at Unruly. Second, it's very clear and practical. Lots of stuff that you could try applying in your organisation today. Lastly it's well.written and wholly unjargonised and stuffy. Like a breath of fresh air. If you're an entrepreneur, run a business or lead a team, or aspire to do any of those I'd order it today and read it tomorrow.
This is a MUST read for any aspiring leader - or someone already in a leadership position who is looking for new inspiration from a great leader. Stepping Up really is a modern leadership manifesto with some really practical and down-to-earth tips for how you can accelerate your potential. I especially love the 5 Vs and have already put them to use. You need this book!
A must-have guide for any budding business star! Sarah is an inspiration and a true agent of change. She read the old rule book and threw it in the bin. Read this book, then read it again. It's got you fully covered in helping you step up and be the very best you.
This is the book you need to read if you want to become a better leader. Super fun and engaging to read, bursting with practical advice and actions that you can start implementing straight away! Makes a brilliant gift as well for all those friends who love to lead.
This book has had such an impact on me, both professionally and personally. I have read business books in the past that have made me feel overwhelmed and out of my depth - and frankly bored! Sarah's approach to business and people is so refreshing and I'm extremely grateful that she has shared her experience and knowledge in the form of this book.
Recommended for anyone looking to build their confidence and focus in business (although this will really help in all aspects of life!)
