I have been writing for as long as I can recall. I enjoyed writing stories and descriptive prose and English and history were two of my favourite subjects.
I learned about my uncle, S/Sgt Billy Marfleet, at a young age, but it wasn't until the late 80s that I decided to find out more about him. I joined the Glider Pilot Regimental Association, through which I met Kevin Shannon and subsequently we co-authored 'One Night In June'. This has now been republished by Fonthill Media as 'Operation Tonga: The Glider Assault 6th June 1944'.
'The Last Drop' arose from my increased interest in Airborne Forces. There wasn't a great deal of information on the pivotal event that was Operation Varsity, and the only book on the whole operation was in German. So, I continued my research, contacted archives and veterans and another book was born.
'With Guns & Drums' was first published several years ago and I decided another edition was due in 2012, the 370th Anniversary of the start of The English Civil Wars.
